i'll spend forever wondering
if you knew.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───

we were at another one of those industry parties, the kind where everyone was pretending not to care who they were standing next to. the music was loud, the lights too dim to really see anything, but none of that mattered because i only had eyes for her.

billie looked incredible, dressed in something dark and oversized, her usual look, but tonight she seemed different. maybe it was the way the low lights played against her skin, or the way her eyes kept catching mine from across the room, holding my gaze longer than they should have.

i couldn't focus on anything else. the conversations around me faded into the background as i watched her move through the crowd, smiling at people, her hand always resting just above her waist, fingers tapping a silent beat like she couldn't keep still.

and then, in a blink, she was beside me, her body brushing against mine in that familiar way. "you bored yet?" she asked, her voice low, almost like a secret just for me.

i smiled, leaning in close so she could hear me over the noise. "i was, but you make things interesting."

she laughed softly, her fingers slipping down to graze my wrist, a touch so light it sent shivers up my spine. we stood like that for a moment, too close for just a casual moment at a party, and no one seemed to notice. or maybe they just didn't care. either way, it didn't matter, because all i could think about was her—how close she was, how much i wanted her to stay close.

"let's get out of here," she whispered in my ear, her breath warm against my skin.

i nodded, barely able to think straight as she pulled me through the crowd, out the side door and into the cool night air. the noise from the party faded behind us as we made our way down the street, her hand slipping into mine like it had always belonged there.

we didn't talk much as we walked, just the occasional glance or soft laugh between us. i could feel the tension growing, the way it always did when we were alone like this, like there was something between us that we couldn't ignore, no matter how hard we tried. we weren't just friends, not even close. i knew it, she knew it, and the world around us didn't matter.

we ended up at her place, the door barely closing behind us before she was pulling me in, her lips crashing against mine with a kind of urgency that made my head spin. i kissed her back, my hands tangling in her hair, pulling her closer until there was no space left between us.

"i like you in that dress," she murmured against my lips, her fingers tracing the fabric as if she was memorizing the way it felt.

"i only bought this dress so you could take it off," i whispered back, my breath catching in my throat as her hands wandered lower, slipping beneath the fabric, her touch warm against my skin.

her eyes darkened at my words, her smile turning into something that made my heart race. "good," she whispered, her lips ghosting over my neck as her hands gripped my hips, guiding me back toward the bed.

we tumbled onto the sheets, our bodies tangled together, the room filled with nothing but the sound of our breathing, our shared need. it was slow at first, our kisses soft and deliberate, but soon it turned into something more, something raw and undeniable.

we stayed like that for what felt like hours, wrapped up in each other, the world outside her bedroom door forgotten. every touch, every kiss, every whispered word felt like a promise, like we were sharing something that went beyond the physical, something neither of us had said out loud but both of us knew was there.

and in that moment, with her body pressed against mine, her hands tracing the fabric of the dress i'd worn just for her, it didn't matter what anyone else thought. all that mattered was this—us, together, sharing something that was more than just desire.

i was enchanted to meet you.
