Lyra Stark - Goddess of War

Chapter 14

Natasha comes up to say all that the dinner is ready. She looks at the four and can see how much fun Lyra has with her friends. She smiles softly.
"Hey guys. The dinner is waiting for you four. You should be almost before Steve, eat everything. He needs a lot of food", Natasha says to them. The boys and Lyra get up and runs to the lift while MJ is relaxed and follow them.
"Are you sure that he eats more as Lyra?", MJ asks and makes Natasha thinking about this. She was right. Lyra eats like Steve a lot. She was an experiment in Hydra and no one know what they have injected her.
"I hope so. But I am lucky that I didn't cook for them", Natasha answers and waits with MJ for the lift.

In the dining room, the other Avengers and Loki are sitting on the table and wait for the teenager. Lyra sits down next to Tony and look to the food.
„Dad, are you sure it is enough for all?", Lyra asks because they are not only four or five people like normal. Good that Happy and Pepper are in Washington for Stark industry.
"I'm sure. I know that it look not this much but in the kitchen is more", Tony answers his daughter and looks in the round. As MJ and Natasha sit down, they begin to eat. Lyra looks to Steve, who eat a lot like her.
„So he is really pretending to be a teacher and not himself?", Clint asks and shows to Loki, who eats quiet. Lyra glares at Clint. Her friends shouldn't know about Loki.
„Barton eat and shut up", Natasha shouts and eat her burger. Lyra takes a lot from the Mac and cheese. She loves this very much.
"Ah Lyra, tonight I plan a party. If you want, you can come to", Tony says and looks calm to her.
"Dad, I have school tomorrow. I can't go to the party. Next time I promise", Lyra answers, and don't want to go on one of his parties after the last days. She doesn't want to be with so many people. Steve puts his fork loud down and gets up. Lyra looks at him and see his view at her. She knows that he doesn't like her, she either doesn't like him.
"Thank you for the great dinner. It is unbelievable that we are with all of you in a room, but my aunt picks us all up and is waiting for us", Peter says insecure. Lyra can see how uncomfortable her friends are actually.
„I bring you out to the car", Lyra answers and gets up. She brings her friends down and see really Peter's aunt.
„We see you tomorrow in school", Ned says and smiles, MJ only nods as goodbye.
"Yes of course. See you tomorrow", Lyra answers and waves to her friends as Peter's aunt drives away. A moment stays Lyra outside. She looks to the trees, and she kneels down and holds her legs. Tear appear in her eyes and she is scared about the future. Today was a good distraction, but all her earlier thoughts came back. She begins to cry on the street and feels helpless. Hydra has given her the serum and all the time she didn't knew it. She thought all the time that her hearing and being strong like this are normal. But all of this came out of a bottle. 

She doesn't want to cry about this, but she needs this for a moment. Her body tells her that it was okay to be weak sometimes. It don't give a reason to need strong all time.
„Snow, why did you cry?", a familiar voice asks her. Lyra looks up and can see Winter. He looks like him. She looks shocked at him.
„Winter?", Lyra asks, and isn't sure if this is real.
"Yes. But we don't have much time. Hydra wants you back. They know about your power", Winter warns her. He doesn't hug her like in the old times.
"You remember me? How?", Lyra asks and get calm. He shows his scar on his healthy arm.
"I need to go before I go being the soldier again. But remember that you need to be careful", Winter says, and run away. Lyra looks after him and is exhausted. She is sure that he wasn't real. Her Winter would run away.
"Lyra, are you coming back? Your food is going to be cold", Thor shouts from the door and looks at her. He hasn't seen Winter. He only sees that Lyra eyes are a bit red and her face is swollen. Thor took her in a massive hug.
"Everything is going to be okay. Loki protects you in school and I protect you after this", Thor said and wants to get her calm.
"Thank you, Thor. You both are good big brothers", Lyra thanks him and goes inside with Thor. Together, both going back to the others and sit on the table. They are talking about Hydra. Steve looks to Tony.

"Why need Lyra Loki as bodyguard? He has kidnapped her yesterday, and now he protects her? Tony, your daughter isn't a target of Hydra. I am sure she doesn't know anything about them", Steve argues with Tony and the others. They discuss Hydra. Tony looks furious at Steve and get up.

"Shut up! You are the one who know nothing! I try to protect my child, and you say she doesn't need safety? Who are you to say such shit?", Tony shouts at him and is fury about Steve's words. Lyra sits next to Loki and stares at the table-top. Steve's word made her mad. She looks up and says no word. She wanted to know what he will say.

"Oh come on! She is only a rich brat you raised all the time! What danger is coming for her? The only danger to her is Loki!", Steve shouts back at Tony. Lyra's Hands are shaking, and she feels the tears in her eyes.

You are the one who knows nothing," mumbles Lyra mad and looks up, "you are the great Captain America, the great hero. I have so much more knowledge than you do about Hydra. I was raised in Hydra!", Lyra shouts at him, her eyes changing to red, and she is fury, "Loki was controlled! He isn't dangerous for me! The real Loki wouldn't hurt me! But nobody of you has talked to him! The real evil men are member of Hydra! The people who experimented on me and gave me this fucking serum! They stole me from my family as a baby. But yes, Steve, I'm a rich brat who know nothing about the real world!" She doesn't notice that her hands are glowing green. Lyra is too angry with Steve. Steve looks at her and becomes quiet. All Avengers are looking at Lyra and no one is talking. Lyra stares at Steve.
"Lyra... please calm down", Loki begs her and lays his hand on hers, "Your powers are controlled by your emotions." He looks in her eyes and forces Lyra to look at him. She begins to cry and breaks down in Loki's arms.
"This is so unfair!", Lyra sobs, and Loki taps her back softly. He nods and hold her while she is crying.
"I know. It isn't fair. You should have a good childhood with your parents and siblings, raised as a loved princess. You shouldn't have lost so many years of your life. We should have found you earlier all the time", Loki whispers in her ear and hold she in his arm, "We should have protected you better." The Avengers are looking to Lyra and Loki. Steve and Clint are confused and don't know why Loki comforts her.
"I don't even know who I really am anymore... All the years I was Lyra, and now? I know I am Lyra Stark, but who am I really? What kind of goddess I am? What are my abilities?", mumbles Lyra and stops to cry. Her voice is broken, but she doesn't cry anymore. Tony comes to her and take her in his arms. It breaks his heart to see her like this. He strokes her hair and holds her. Tony looks at Loki and can't believe that he was able to calm her down.
"I am sorry, Loki... I thought you would bring more chaos in her life and was against you as her bodyguard first. Now, I think you can protect her really while she is in school", Tony says this, and it wasn't easy for him to apologize to him, but it was real. Loki was good for Lyra. He can see, that Loki cares much about her and she about him.
"She is our little sister... We weren't able to protect her as a baby, but now we will do everything to keep her safe", Loki replies and believes that the others need to know the truth. They need to know why he and Thor care so much about Lyra. Clint looks surprised but not shocked. He must have been suspecting something about them. On the other side, Steve looks disgusted and looks at them. He seems mad about not knowing the truth before. Lyra gets up and breathes deep.
"I go to bed. Good night", Lyra says, and wants to be alone. She goes up to her floor and ignores the Avengers. All she need is rest.
