Lyra Stark - Goddess of War

Chapter 28

The three goes out to the market. Loki stays a bit behind them and observes them. He doesn't know what he should think about Bucky. He only knows that they share the same traumatic experience.  The super soldiers looking at their favourites and buy some food for later. From time to time, Lyra holds her hand at the wound. It's healed, but the bullet is in her belly. She can feel it under her skin. At home, she needs Bruce help. Slowly they are looking and Lyra sees Buckys face on a newspaper.
"Look", Lyra mumbles and take one and shows Bucky the headline, "They say you were in Vienna and kill the king of Wakanda... we need to bring you away from her before they find you." She pays for the newsletter and both go to Loki.
"We need to go", Bucky says seriously, and leads them back to his apartment. Loki looks at the papers in Lyra's hand. What happen? He can't read the language on it, only see the picture of Bucky.
„Okay, I wait here for you", Loki says in front of the building. He doesn't want to go all the steps up. So he decides to wait. Both nod and go in.
Bucky looks at Lyra and can't believe that she and this god are siblings.
„So you are a goddess? What kind of goddess are you?", he asks her, and she doesn't know how to reply.
„Yes. But I don't know what kind of god I am. My brothers told me that I was kidnapped as Baby before my power come to me. So no one knows. I learn actually my powers to use. I think with Loki's help I will learn faster", she answers and want to know that too. She looks to Bucky. Someone was in his apartment. She was able to hear steps. Lyra takes her pistol for safety and kicks the door open. Steve stands in the middle of the room and looks shocked at both.
„Lyra? Bucky?", he asks shocked and Bucky pushes Lyra protective behind him. He looks sceptic to him.
„What do you want here?", Bucky asks rude and looks to his notebook in Steve's hand.
„I searched for you", Steve says and looks at a photo in the notebook. On the photo are both with a baby in Buckys arms. This was on the day after Steve saved Bucky, and they come back to the camp. Bucky found a baby in the hells and takes her with them. Steve remembers that Peggy and the military take care of her. But the baby got lost, so Peggy tells him week's ago. Lyra looks to Steve and the picture. She recognizes herself as the baby. She has seen baby pictures in her hydra files. Lyra looks at Bucky.
„Don't you tell me that we meet first as I was four years old?", Lyra asks him quietly and whispers her question to him. He nods. He doesn't know that she is the baby he holds in the photo.
„You need to come with me. If you come, I can help you", Steve says to Bucky.
„I don't have killed this man. I wasn't in Austria the past days", Bucky answers and take a step back, tries to protect Lyra. Steve looks at Lyra.
„We thought you died in Sokovia. We found so much of your blood", Steve asks her, but Lyra doesn't answer. She is concentrate to hear the agents outside. She glares at Steve before she creates an energy field around her and Bucky as they break in. Bucky looks surprised at her. He doesn't know about her power.
„Clint has said the truth. You had saved him and Pietro", Steve says, surprised. Lyra nods only and runs with Bucky out of the room away from the agents.

As Bucky jumps out of the window, she uses her power to stop his fall before she follows him. Loki sees this and can't react fast enough to follow as both stole a motorcycle and Lyra drives with him away.
„Lyra!", Loki shouts and looks to them. He sees Steve following both.
„Rogers! What happen?! Why are they run away?", Loki yells at him and runs to him.
„Bucky is a searched criminal and Lyra just follows him", Steve answers and took a other motorcycle. Loki looks at Steve.
„Yes because they are both the same. Victims of Hydra", Loki tells him, „He is the one that protected Lyra in her childhood, her Winter." Steve sighs and drives.
Lyra has her arms around Bucky and looks back to look for pursuers. She turns around and leans on Bucky to shoot on the cars of their pursuers.
„If they take us, we tell them that we are scared and can't remember them all", Lyra says and sees Steve. She wanted to shoot at his motorcycle, but Bucky stops, and she looks behind her, sees Rhodey with shield agents. Lyra gets up and breathes deep. She looks at the men and stays next to Bucky. Bucky pushes her back again and hears Steve.
„She doesn't is in this! She is just a kid!", Bucky says direct and looks at them, „Snowflake. Take the weapon down and trust me. Everything will be okay. I promise nothing will happen to you." Lyra looks at him and take the pistol back. Even she trusts Rhodey as Tony's friend, she is scared. She knows that many agents from hydra works also at shield.
„But... what if they come for us and... I just escape", Lyra says worried, and her breath goes faster. She looks panicked at him and tries to calm down. But she is scared that Hydra will take her again. She begins to cry and kneels down. She can't breathe and Bucky tries to calm her down.
„Look at me. Breath with me", Bucky says and holds her, but the agents take him and cuffing his hands. Lyra looks at him.
„Winter...", she whispers, and everyone can see that she has a panic attack. Rhodey runs to her.
"Lyra. Breathe with me. I bring you home. You are safe", he promises her. She looks panicked at him. Her eyes are purple, and Rhodey knows that only Natasha is able to calm Lyra down. He takes his phone and calls Natasha.
"Romanoff. She needs you", he says and hold his phone at Lyra's ear.
"Lyra?", Natasha's voice, reaches Lyra. She looks at the phone.
"Nat?", Lyra asks quietly and begins to cry, "Help me please... I don't want to go back. I don't want to kill people..." Her voice is quietly, but Natasha can understand her words.
"Sweetie. You can trust him. He brings you back to us. Your dad and I are waiting for you. We are so happy to get you back", Natasha tells her, and Lyra begins to calm down. It is not what she says. It is just her voice. She trusts Natasha and knows that she is a save point for her.
"I can't wait to... but don't dad hate me? I shoot at him last time... I am a monster... I tried to kill my father...", Lyra mumbles and cries softly.
"No. He just wants you in his arms to know you are safe", Natasha answers.
"Okay... I guess we see us later...", Lyra mumbles and looks at Rhodey.
"I am ready to come home..."
