Lyra Stark - Goddess of War

Chapter 18

Tony comes half an hour after Loki's call to pick both up. He wasn't amused to come while Lyra has her lesson, but he accepts that Loki has chosen this option instead of using magic. He wears his signature sunglasses and walks down the hall to Lyra's gym classes. The floor is empty so that no one stops Ton. He opens the door to the gym and get in.
"Lyra... Maria... Stark", Tony spells her full name slowly to show her that she is in trouble. Lyra pauses when she wants to fight with Liz at the moment her father spells her name. She knows that she is in trouble by being call with her full name. She turns around.
"Dad... Hey... I thought you come after my lesson to pick us up", Lyra greets him and smiles at him innocently. The other students in the room begin to whisper again, and Lyra looks at Loki to help her with the whisperer.
"He has called me and tells me that you want to fight with another girl. He begs me to pick you up. You know that I didn't allow you to fight with someone which is weaker as you", Tony shouts at her and Lyra can see that he is disappointed. She nods weak.
"I'm sorry... But she talked nonsense about me and you, that I am not good enough to be your daughter. Should I let her talk these nonsense about us?", Lyra asks her father and begins to sobbing. She doesn't know why she sobs. Lyra wasn't sad, only annoyed and a bit mad about the gossip. Loki touches Lyra's face and wipes away her tears. Now Loki is mad at Liz.
"How dare you make my little sister cry?", Loki asks mad and stares at Liz. Tony grabs Loki's arm.
"Car! Now!", Tony shouts at both. The students whisper about Lyra and their assistant teacher being siblings.
"Perfect... tell the world that I'm Thor's little sister", mumbles Lyra and goes with Tony and Loki out. Peter and MJ follow them.
"Lyra! Wait! We wanted to ask you if you want to hang up tonight", Peter asks her and looks to her and Tony. Lyra shakes her head.
"Sorry... not today, but Monday we can hang up after school", Lyra answers and remembers her plan to fly with Natasha and Clint to the farm, "We see us on Monday." Lyra goes to the changing room and get her bag.

Quietly, Lyra follows her father to the car and breathes deep. She thinks about Liz words and gets in the car. Liz words have hurt Lyra's self-confidence. She was proud to be Lyra Stark and knows her father loves her, but now she feels not good enough for this. Her plan is to talk about it with Natasha later.
"Is Nat at home? We wanted to go out today", Lyra asks quietly. Tony gets in and looks back to her.
"She is waiting for you and told me the same", Tony answers and drives back to the Tower. He turns on the radio and lets the music play on the side. Loki looks out of the window.
"Stark, I think Lyra should be homeschooled by you and Banner for her own security. She is too clever for this school", Loki tells Tony his thoughts. He believes in his words and wanted her to be safe.
"I would like this too and Banner has many doctor degrees, so he would be the perfect teacher, but Lyra and Pepper doesn't like this idea. I never expected to agree with someone like you. But it would be the best for her as long Hydra is after her", Tony answers him and Lyra is complete shocked. Why didn't ask someone what she wants? She can't believe that they don't ask her what she thinks, or that Loki could train her with her powers.
„No! I won't be homeschooled! I told you I want to have a normal life and this includes the school even if it's boring and overwhelming at the same time. My friends are important for me. I can only see them in school. Don't take this from me", Lyra begs and looks at both. Tony stays quiet, same as Loki. She can't believe this and get even more mad.

At the tower, Lyra jumps out of the car and runs up to the kitchen. She is looking for Natasha or Pepper to talk with Tony. Both women have helped her last time to argue with Tony about this topic.
„Pepper?", Lyra shouts and searches for her. She only finds Steve and Thor. She ignores both and goes to the lift and up to her floor. Lyra finds Nat in Lyra's bedroom, packing stuff for the trip.
„Nat you need to talk with dad before we go. He wants to homeschool me! You know that this idea is dumb! Please help me", Lyra begs her and feels so powerless about her own life at this moment, „He agrees with Loki about this! I don't want to be locked up in the tower!" She doesn't know what to do. Natasha looks at her and comes to her. She hugs the young girl and holds her in her arms.
„I talk with him and Pepper Sunday evening", Natasha promises this and looks to her little girl, „But know Clint is waiting for us. He wants to fly as soon as possible." Lyra nods and takes her bed for the trip. She grabs Natasha's hand and goes down with her. Loki and Tony are talking in the living room with Thor and Steve. The only one Lyra can't see is Bruce. But she knows that he will be in the laboratory.
„Stark. I take Lyra with Clint. We see you on Sunday", Natasha informs Tony and goes with Lyra to the quinjet. Clint is waiting for the girl and smiles. Lyra waves to Tony and her brothers as goodbye.
„How long are we flying?", Lyra asks Clint and Natasha. The three get in the jet and Clint starts as pilot.
„Two hours maximum. We didn't use the fastest way for safety", Clint explains to Lyra, which sits down in the passenger seat behind him. She has learned to fly a jet with Maria and Coulson in the past.
„Okay. Do you have horses at the farm? Or other animals?", Lyra asks, and is excited about the weekend.
„Yes. Horses and cows. But who you will meet there needs to be a secret", Clint tells her, and Lyra can see that he has a big secret. She nods and knows that this person must be important for him. She looks out and yawns. She looks to Nat next to her and smiles.
„I'm wondered that Dad don't follow us", Lyra is surprised and has expected that he will come to get her back.
„No he will not follow us. He has seen how angry you are", Natasha replies and smiles, „he knows also that you are safe with us." Lyra nods and smiles softly.
„You are right. You are two Avengers", Lyra answers and fells save with both on her side.
She looks to them and relaxes while they fly.
