Chapter 34

Both got up to the others. Everyone takes a seat and looks to the big screen. Tony looks to the group.
"We don't know what files are on the stick. We need to prepare everything. But we hope to get more information to destroy Hydra", Tony tells to everyone and starts the video. Bucky and Lyra's faces go expressionless.
A baby cries on the video while a scientist gave them an injection. In the background lays a metal arm, that Bucky wears now. No one makes a noise. They just stare at the screen.
"Such a good girl. With your heritage you will become our strongest soldier", the scientist says. The baby cries and the face goes red.
"Don't do this to her! She is a baby!", Buckys voice is in the background and everyone can hear that his voice is broken.
Natasha grabs Lyra's hand as another video starts and there is Lyra at the age of two. She stands scared in front of a man and tries not to cry. Everywhere on her body are bruises. She looks up to the man.
"We have talked to Dreykov. We send her to him. His widows will take care of this girl", the man tells. In the background is a calendar which shows that this happens in the 80s.
"L... Lyra will be a good girl...", the young Lyra cries loud and scared. She doesn't want to send away. But two widows come in the picture and took her. No one talks to Lyra in the video. Bucky graves Lyra's other hand and holds it. Tony tries to stop the videos, but Jarvis warns him that a part of the code in the stick stops Tony's actions. So they are forced to look the video's.
The third video starts. It is not in Hydra but in the red room. Lyra remembers Evangeline which is also in the video. But different from in Lyra's memory Evangeline has dark hair.
"Great work Melina", says Dreykov in the background. The young Lyra looks to Melina irritated.
"You said your name is Evangeline", young Lyra whispers and looks up. Melina looks emotionless to Lyra while the laugh of Dreykov sounds.
At the moment a Hydra agent picks Lyra up, a bit of sadness is visible at Melina's expression.
"You promised to take me save!", Lyra yells as they bring her away. In the last moment a tear appears in Melina's eyes before the video change again.
Lyra feels how Natasha presses her hand and can feel also sadness by Natasha also hate and nostalgia. It was irritated at this moment, and she would ask Natasha later about it.

The next video is the first meeting of Bucky and Lyra as she was four. Lyra's memories are different as in the video. Bucky was full of injuries and was skinny.
"I will call you Winter", young Lyra's voice appears and all the avengers in the room can see the pain in Bucky eyes. In the video as here in presence. Lyra stares at the video and a single tear rolls across her chest. She looks at Bucky which also looks at Lyra at this moment.
"Snowflake...", Bucky whispers softly and Lyra replies, "Winter." Both presses their hands and looks back to the screen. Bucky holds the young Lyra as she falls asleep in his arms. He stares to the cell door and holds her protective.
Then gas comes in the cell and Bucky falls also asleep in the video. The next scene shows how both got frozen together. Just to get shown a complete different video.
Now Tony looks concerned to the video.
"I remember this night... this is the night of my parents dead", he whispers and looks shocked as their car appears in the video. Seconds later Bucky also appears with Lyra in the video. Lyra stand meters in front of the car and stops it with her powers while Bucky kills Tony's parents.
Everyone expected of Steve and Bucky looks shocked. Tony looks angry to Bucky. Lyra stares at her hands. She can't remember this night or using her powers as a young child. Her breath begins to get faster. She has killed her grandparents with Bucky. They killed Howard and Maria Stark together. But Lyra hasn't time as she can hear a small voice in the background. Just a whisper in the video. Bucky looks miserable but as he also begins to hear this whispering voice, he jumps to Lyra and holds her ears. A second too late because Lyra kicks him away. She looks at everyone before taking her goal. She begins to attack Bucky.
"What the hell happened?", Thor shouted and tries to stop Lyra. Bucky defends himself without any harm for Lyra. He looks to Thor.
"Her trigger words! They hide her trigger words in the background as quietly whispering. Lyra can hear ten times better than normal people!", Bucky yells back, "They must have used it in this night to deactivate her!" Even that Lyra and Bucky fight some of them watches the video where the younger Lyra gets unconscious later, and the winter soldier runs to her.
"Snowflake! It's me!", Bucky yells. Both versions of him. The video as also the current one.
"You are my mission!", she says seriously and uses her power to pin him to the ground. He looks shocked in the first moment but remembers the words, begins to yell them at her in pain. Lyra holds her head and falls also to the ground. She starts to cry and looks at all. She sobs and can't stop the horrible pain, emotional pain. Tony runs to his daughter and looks at her.
"Lyra!", he calls her. She looks a moment up and continues crying. She was a monster.
"We have killed them... how can you care about me after you have seen this video?", Lyra asks Tony and sobs. She looks at him, and he is able to see how broken she was really. He doesn't understand the complexity of her trauma, but he understands that this was never their free will. Also, he understands after this that it wasn't Buckys will. He hates him for that, but he can't hate the real Bucky. The Bucky who protects Lyra from everyone and cares about her. He only hates the soldiers Hydra have made. Tony knows that he needs to find a way to stop the effect of the triggers for both of them.
"You were a little kid. You didn't have control in this situation", Tony says and pulls her in his arms. She only cries harder and has a breakdown in Tony's arms.
Only Wanda's voice brings her back to reality a moment. She stares at the video of Lyra's amputation. Pietro holds his sister. Everyone also stares shocked as they have seen how the amputation began while Lyra was awake and hear her cry in pain just to loses her concession. No one says a word. They all feel only hate for Hydra. The strongest emotions come from her brother and Bucky. Tony isn't angry like the others. He is more shocked to see how his child got tortured in this way. But Lyra knows that only more torturing was on the list of her past, also for Bucky. The list was long. Lyra was relieved that only these videos were here and nothing more shockingly. She feels how Wanda and Loki try to enter her mind. She glances at both mad. Loki stops immediately but Wanda not. She manages to enter Lyra's mind. Lyra holds her head as the memories start to play in her mind from just simple slaps until getting raped by guards while Bucky was in mission or Lyra come back from a mission in the red room. Lyra pushes Wanda out and the stress let her vomit. Tony strokes her back, Wanda stares shocked at Lyra. At this moment Wanda loses Lyra's trust.
