8. The Funeral

Lilly's POV
On Saturday it was ruled that I would be living with my grandparents until I was eighteen, after that I live wherever.
The boys arrived that night on a late flight and my Uncle and I picked them up and took them to the hotel. I spent time with them talking about everything but Monday. I worked on some homework while they watched some movies. I asked, "How's Harry?" Niall said, "He's been good, a but more quiet lately, but he's been good."
I sighed saying, "It's okay Niall, you don't have cover up for him. I know he's gone public with another girl. it just so happens it was a week after he broke up with me. not a big deal."
He nodded asking, "How have you been?"
I said, "Well, given I still have his jumper on me, I'm still not over him, but I'm getting better every day, I have to focus on the now before things change."
He hugged me, they all did. I said, "I'm really glad you guys still talk to me. I've tried calling, texting, and even emailing Harry, but nothing. I tried yesterday, but his number changed." They looked at me surprised and I said, "It's all right, it just sucks. I really wanted to be his friend stil." They nodded and I left to go home.
The funeral was on Monday and I was to make a speech. I said, "I'm not very good with these types of situations. The last time I was here was when my grandmother died. I remember my mom to always be happy when everything was dark. Though she had here fair share of bad days, I will always remember my mom to be my inspiration. She sacrificed so much for me and I never was able to repay her. She is finally at peace and that is all I've ever wanted. I prepared a song because I knew my mom always loved to see me perform, so it's the last time she'll see me perform instead church. Guys?" They were up in the choir section. The people in the original choir kindly moved for the boys.
The music started and I sang,

Everyone clapped and I hugged the boys. I said, "Special thanks to One Direction!" I was crying by the end and sat down with my grandparents. My church choir I've been with for over two years sang the final song and it was the end and I was hosting the reception at my grandparents house.
I continued school on Tuesday.
