Rayne's POV
"What's with your eyes? It's puffy."

While adjusting the vest over my tunic, I shook my head, "Didn't sleep well last night."

Eyes narrowed as Akali scrutinised my swollen lips before offering, "Bug spray?"

"... No," I declined, my face heating up with shame.

I lowered my head to hide the blush that's as red as a tomato. Is that cub born in the year of the dog or something??? Why bite so hard??? Luckily, Akali isn't exactly known to be the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to relationships and the lot. Otherwise, this would've been as good as a public execution.

At this time, a soft sensation brushed against my ankles. Accompanied by a seductive purr. The pudgy fox bumped my legs with her hips, smirking proudly. Furry tails stroked me in an unfettered manner as amber eyes twinkled. Staring at the playful wiggles of her vulpine ears, I was thoroughly ticked off.

Ahri!

She must have left those obscene love bites for Akali to see!

FUCJFHJFNFJFNFH-really???

I bent down to scoop the naughty baby into my arms. Before I could chide her, the poofy troublemaker clambered up my torso to perch atop my shoulder-her rightful throne. At this point, I've basically become her glorified bus 11.

"What she needs isn't a bug spray, but a hoe repellent," Evelynn chuckled, glancing over knowingly.

She knows, unlike a certain oblivious bloke. Cheeks burned. I was even more flustered. Oh how I wish the ground could just swallow me. I practically buried my head like an ostrich.

Someone, kill me now.

"O-kay. Anyway, put this on," Akali tossed over a pair of black leather boots.

[Item: Assassin's Shoes]

[Rarity: B]

[Type: Armour]

[Agility +10]

[Sense +10]

"It's dropped by one of the Hollow Knights."

[Do you want to equip Assassin's Shoes?]

[YES]

[NO]

The moment I tapped on the 'accept' option, blue static rippled across the boots before they pixelated. The shoes vanished. Replaced by a faint outline forming around my legs. It traced the contours of my muscles, wrapping snugly over my feet. At the same time, a feathery sensation swathed me.

[Agility: 106 116]

[Sense: 88 98]

The shiny see-through profile quickly dissipated. I was still wearing the same weather-beaten school sneakers as before. The item didn't show up in real life.

Oh? They turn invisible?

I rolled my ankles, testing out my range of movement. It doesn't seem to be restricted. From the looks of it, the system only registered the additional stats to my status. So I'm not necessarily going to wear coarse knee-high boots 24/7. Nice. Save the pain of blisters.

The rogue pointed a shaky finger at me in disbelief, "No way. Your system also has this feature???"

"I didn't know it had this function either."
