The Empty Space Left Behind: Moving Forward Without Sanna

The days following Sanna's death were like an endless, numbing fog for everyone she left behind. The funeral was over, and the house felt strangely empty, as if the very air was heavy with her absence. For Ahir, Annu, Dev, Daddu, and Dadi, moving forward felt like an impossible task. And for Keyan, life had lost its meaning.

Keyan's Loneliness: A Love That Could Never Be Replaced

Keyan wandered through the streets alone, the world passing him by as though he were invisible. Since Sanna's death, he had isolated himself, avoiding friends and family. He felt hollow, as if the part of him that had loved, that had lived for Sanna, had died with her.

He would find himself sitting at the café where they used to meet, staring at the empty chair across from him, imagining her smile, her laugh. At night, he would dream of her, only to wake up to the cold, hard truth that she was gone forever.

One evening, Keyan visited the spot where the accident had happened. His footsteps felt heavy as he knelt at the makeshift memorial that had been set up in Sanna's honor. Flowers, candles, and photos adorned the site, and as Keyan knelt there, his tears fell freely.

"I promised you... I'd never let you go," he whispered, his voice breaking. "But I let you down."

Suddenly, Dev's voice cut through the quiet. "It wasn't your fault, Bro."

Keyan looked up to see Dev standing behind him, his face filled with sorrow but also understanding. He had come to check on Keyan, knowing how deeply his sister's death had affected him.

"We can't change what happened," Dev continued, his eyes filled with unshed tears. "But Sanna dii wouldn't want you to blame yourself. She saved you because she loved you."

Keyan clenched his fists, trying to suppress the overwhelming grief and guilt that had plagued him since the accident. "I don't know how to live without her, Dev. I don't know who I am without her."

Dev sat beside Keyan, staring at the memorial. "You don't have to figure it out right now. We're all trying to survive this. But she'd want us to live for her, not be stuck in our guilt."

Keyan wiped his eyes, nodding slowly. He knew Dev was right, but the emptiness inside him felt unbearable. The love he had for Sanna would never fade, and he had made a silent vow that he would never marry or love anyone else.

The Khurranas: Learning to Live With the Pain

Back at the Khurrana household, the grief was palpable. Annu busied herself in the kitchen, her hands mechanically going through the motions of cooking, but her mind was elsewhere. She hadn't stopped cooking for the family since Sanna's passing, as if keeping busy was the only way she could keep from falling apart.
