Brewing Doubts and Hidden Schemes
Sanna sat at her usual spot in the café, her coffee untouched. Ankit had joined her, claiming he just wanted to hang out. But as always, their conversations had shifted in a direction that Sanna had started to expect from him towards Keyan.
"You know," Ankit began, swirling his drink absentmindedly, "Keyan's a great guy, but I've been noticing things... subtle things. He doesn't seem fully committed, does he? It's almost like he's distracted."
Sanna shot him a sharp look. "Distracted? What do you mean?"
Ankit leaned in closer, his expression soft and concerned. "I mean, do you really think he's the right one for you? You're so... invested in him. But I've seen him. He doesn't always prioritize you the way he should."
Sanna bristled. "What are you talking about? Keyan cares about me."
Ankit smiled faintly, as if he pitied her naivety. "I'm just saying... you deserve someone who's fully focused on you. Someone who understands you completely. Not someone who's looking for distractions."
The way he said "distractions" made Sanna's stomach churn. She felt the seeds of doubt start to sprout, as if Ankit's words were forcing her to see something she had been trying to ignore. But was he right?
"You're wrong," she said, her voice wavering slightly. "Keyan's been good to me."
Ankit shrugged, his demeanor calm but calculated. "I just want you to be happy, Sanna. And sometimes, the people we think are perfect for us... aren't. Just be careful. Don't let him hurt you."
His words hung in the air long after the conversation had ended. Ankit always had a way of planting ideas in her head, like little whispers of doubt that never fully went away. He never outright said Keyan was bad for her, but his insinuations chipped away at her confidence in their relationship. Subtle, but effective.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Ankit and Riya found themselves in a secluded corner of the campus garden. The shadows grew longer, enveloping them in secrecy as their hushed conversation unfolded.
"She's starting to notice," Riya said, her frustration palpable. "Sanna's catching on."
Ankit leaned back on the bench, his arms crossed in a display of casual confidence. "Let her catch on. The doubts we've sown will take root soon enough."
Riya's eyes, though sharp, betrayed her agitation. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"
Ankit's gaze was steady. "Aren't you?"
Riya nodded slowly, though her tension was evident. "I just want to see her squirm. She thinks she has everything figured out with Keyan, but she's so wrong."
