Third person's pov
“I am here.”
All four of them snapped their heads towards the entrance… and there she was standing, holding her phone against her ear, revolving her eyes all over the cafe to find familiar faces, and then their gaze locked.
Kevin's breath hitched when Mia's frown was replaced by a soft gaze. And that moment was enough for Kevin to study the girl's features. He instantly memorised it.
Black doe eyes, with straight nose, long eyelashes, and love shaped pink lips. Almost 5.5 ft height, and a lean body.
Her hair shade looked lighter than black but darker than brown.
Beautiful.
Mia walked towards their table while shoving something inside her sling bag.
Jules, Kiara and Jacob got up from their seats, Kevin diverted his gaze from the girl with much difficulty and he followed their actions too.
Jules threw herself over Mia, and she stumbled two steps back because of the force.
“Woah…woah… Now you are full of love for me… A minute ago you were acting like a bitch.” Mia exclaimed, chuckling while hugging back.
And Kevin's breath hitched again, he didn't know exactly why.
Was it because of her beauty? Or because of her melodious voice? Or because of her infectious… pretty smile?
“Are you okay now? Upset?” Jules asked, pulling away from the hug caressing her cheeks.” and Kevin wondered how her cheeks would feel against his palms.
“Oh come one! I moved on a long time ago.” Mia uttered and moved in front to hug Kiara.
Both the girls shared a hug, “Mia, you look pretty today.” Kiara mumbled. Mia flashed a smile.
Her gaze averted from Kiara to the both guys, and Kevin was nervous was an understatement. He wanted the ground to swallow him because he was hella nervous. His mind was filled with anxiety.
Jacob took a step and opened his arms and Mia smiled before side-hugging Jacob. And Kevin didn't like it.
“Gosh, You are so cold.” Jacob exclaimed, withdrawing from the hug.
“I walked here. It was a ten minute distance. So maybe that's why.” Mia shrugged and instantly yelped when Jules smacked her shoulder.
“The fuck?” Mia gritted.
“Why the fuck did you walk here when you could have reached directly here from a cab.” Jules spat.
“I had to buy something. Didn't find a cab in front of the shop so I walked here.” Mia shrugged. “Talking about this-” Mia's gaze fixed on Kevin. And he just stared blankly.
She walked towards him and smiled, and Kevin wasn't able to look away from the dark beautiful eyes.
Kevin gasped when he felt cold hands around his neck, and his body was pressed against Mia's. A scent of vanilla and strawberry invaded his nose.
Mia hugged him.
He felt her warm breath on the crook of his neck, and his stomach made a flip. Kevin didn't know how to hug back because he was never a person who liked physical contact. He didn't even hug Jacob before.
But to not make the girl feel offended without hugging back, Kevin rested his palm against her back and tapped nervously.
Mia withdrew from the hug and took a few steps back. Still smiling widely, her eyes gleamed reflecting the bright lights of the cafe inside them.
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Handsome.” Mia uttered.
Kevin felt overwhelmed, still he cleared his throat before uttering, “Nice to meet you too.”
“Holyshit. Your voice… It's so hot…. Agh I mean it's melodic.” Mia exclaimed dramatically.
Kevin nodded, giving a tight lip smile and the rest of them cleared their throats.
“We are here too. And the food is getting cold.” Jules uttered.
Mia giggled. Everyone sat on their seats and Mia was seated in between Kevin and Jules. And started having their dinner.
Mia rested her back on her seat rubbing her hands.
“It's cold.” Mia muttered.
“Should've thought before roaming on the seats.” Mia hissed.
“What stuff did you have to do Mia?” It was Kiara this time.
Mia took a sip of her mocktail before clearing her throat.
“It's that time of year when I donate some food and clothes to an orphanage I know.” Mia uttered.
“Wow Mia! That's so nice of you.” Jacob exclaimed.
Kevin was impressed too. Mia seemed like a girl who never hesitates to lend a hand towards whoever needs help.
“Thanks, Jake.”
“Oh, It's already that time of year?” Jules mumbled and Mia nodded, having a spoonful of fried rice. Kevin stared at his elbow which brushes Mia's elbow once in a while.
“Where'd you meet Jonathan then?” Jules asked.
Mia scoffed and rested her back against the chair again.
“I was waiting for my taxi in front of the orphanage, he was passing by.” Mia
uttered rolling her eyes.“He said something to you, didn't he?” Kiara asked.
Kevin and Jacob continued their dinner listening to them.
“He asked me to be his girlfriend.” Everyone dropped their spoons and forks, and snapped their heads towards Mia. She chuckled.
“I rejected him guys! Relax!” Mia giggled.
“If you'd accepted, I would've thrown you out right now.” Jules spat, “He must've insulted you again then?” Kiara asked.
And Mia's eyes showed a glint of sadness for a second that didn't go unnoticed by Kevin.
“He called me a whore. And accused me that I was standing in front of an orphanage, maybe because I've a illegitimate child there.”
Mia let out a fake laugh.
“That fucking son of a bitch.” Jules gritted out.
Kiara tried to cool down Jules anger.
“Oh that was low of him to say that.” Jacob uttered.
Kevin remained silent but he felt anger and hate towards this guy named Jonathan.
“People are alike, Jake. Everyone has their own mindset. We shouldn't care.” Mia uttered.
All five of them talked with each other for a while about various topics and even promised each other to meet again. Kevin nodded, shook his head, gave a tight lipped smile often. And it's time to call it a day.
“It was nice spending time with you Mr. Handsome.” Mia chirped when they were about to exit the cafe.
“The feeling is mutual.” Kevin muttered nodding his head.
They parted ways in front of the guy. The three girls moved towards Jules car, Jacob towards his and Kevin towards his bike.
Kevin rewinded all the things that happened and most of them involved Mia. He shoved his hand inside his pocket to take out his key but it wasn't there. He panicked and checked his other pockets but the key wasn't there in any of the pockets.
“Trying to find this?”
