Third person's pov

“All the stones are not diamonds. So all humans are not ugly.”

Mia stared at Kevin, she could feel the burning sensation inside her eyes, “Just because you came across some jerk people that doesn't mean everyone is the same. Don't you think it's unfair to punish nice people who are willing to brighten our lives for the earlier jerk ones?” Kevin asked, smiling. He brings his hand forward to pat Mia's head gently with adoration and Mia could sense that.

“You are right.” Mia uttered, clasping Kevin's hand between her soft hands that were patting her head.

“But what made you change your mindset?” Mia asked, smiling gently.

Kevin opened his mouth to answer the question but was interrupted when their other friends walked to the garden, bickering and chuckling.

“Hey, Mia.” Jacob greets with a side hug.

“Hi. We met this morning, didn't we?” Mia asked giggling.

“He just waits for a chance to flirt.” Jules says, rolling her eyes.

“Did we make you guys wait for too long?” Kiara asked.

Kevin shook his head with a smile and Mia utters a ‘no’.

“Jake, you look handsome.” Mia giggles and Jacob smiles.

“But it was a waste. The girl ditched me.” Jacob let out a bitter chuckle.

“Hey bro, missed me?” Jacob asks, waving his hands.

Kevin rolled his eyes and everyone burst into laughter.

“Really?” Jacob asks, excitedly.

“Yeah. Am a winter baby.” Mia utters.

All of them sat on the cold grass making a circle. Jules brought a warm woollen carpet for them to sit on.

“Stop acting cute, you bitch. You are annoying.” Jules tsks.

“So we must be back after celebrating Christmas with our families, to celebrate Mia's birthday.

“So it's the party for both new year and Mia?” Kevin asks and everyone nods.

But I don't like parties.” Kevin mutters.

“Not even mine?” Mia asks. “We'll make you feel comfortable.” Jules utters with a smile and Kiara agrees.

“Guys, how about this time we hold a party within ourselves? No outsiders, no drinks, no making out, no hookups. Just a friendly party.” Mia offers.

Jacob and Jules scrunch their noses, pretending to think about the idea and then nodding with a smile.

“So that's final.” Mia says happily.

“So when will you guys leave for Christmas?” Kevin asks.

“Me and Jules will leave this weekend.” Jacob utters. “I'll leave this Monday.” Kiara says.

“So we have only five days with you.” Mia utters.

“Let's go ice skating then, our winter holidays started anyway.” Jules says casually, shrugging her shoulders.

“Done.” Everyone shouts in unison.
