Electric Touch – Taylor Swift & Fall Out Boy ⚡🔥
"Just another wide-eyed girl who's desperately in love with you."
----
The night stretched on, rain still pattering softly against the window. The air was warm, cozy, and for the first time in a long time, I felt completely at peace.
Patrick had found some extra blankets, but after drying my hair and we had ended up just talking.
It started with random things—childhood memories, embarrassing moments, the time I accidentally dyed my hair green in high school—but then the conversation shifted.
Patrick was lying on his back, one arm behind his head, his golden-brown eyes soft in the dim light.
I turned to my side, resting my cheek on my hand. "What happens now?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Patrick turned his head slightly to look at me. "What do you mean?"
I bit my lip. "Us. This. We're keeping it a secret for now, but what about later?"
His lips curled into a small, lazy smile. "You planning our wedding already?"
I smacked his arm. "Patrick."
He laughed but then grew serious. His fingers absentmindedly traced the hem of the blanket. "I want this, Kat. Whatever this is, I want it. And I don't care how long it takes for us to figure things out."
My heart did a whole damn gymnastics routine.
"But..." he hesitated, exhaling softly. "Things might change soon."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
He shifted slightly, turning on his side to face me fully. "I haven't told anyone yet, but... I'm gonna take over my dad's business soon."
That made me pause. "Wait—your dad's business? Not... Arymeline?"
Patrick nodded, watching my reaction closely.
"So, you're leaving?" My voice came out quieter than I intended.
"Not immediately," he said quickly. "A few months, maybe. But yeah, eventually."
I stared at him, processing. Patrick was ambitious, always had been. I knew he had a life outside Arymeline, but I guess I never imagined him... gone.
"You're not upset, are you?" he asked, his brows furrowing slightly.
I shook my head. "No. Just... surprised. I can't picture Arymeline without you."
Patrick smirked, reaching over to brush a stray strand of hair from my face. "What, you can't survive without me?"
I rolled my eyes. "Oh, please. If anything, you can't survive without me."
He chuckled but didn't argue.
For a few moments, we just lay there—soft breathing, warm blankets, the rain a gentle rhythm in the background.
It felt safe.
It felt like home.
And before I knew it—I fell asleep.
---
I woke up slowly, comfortably, my body tangled in warmth.
For a second, I forgot where I was.
