No Tears Left to Cry – Ariana Grande 🎧✨
"Right now, I'm in a state of mind, I wanna be in like all the time..."
---
The day after Adri's birthday party, I decided it was time for some much-needed best friend time. After everything—Patrick, Olivia, the party—it felt good to have a chill day with just Adri, no drama, no distractions. The sun was high, casting a golden glow over the streets as we wandered through downtown, hopping from store to store, talking about everything and nothing.
We were mid-conversation about whether pineapple belonged on pizza when Adri suddenly gasped and grabbed my armlike she'd just spotted a celebrity. "Oh my god, look!" she practically screeched, pointing ahead.
I followed her gaze and immediately understood why she was about to lose her mind. Plastered across the side of a store was a massive poster of Jade Kason—Adri's absolute obsession—advertising his upcoming concert in Coachella.
No. Freaking. Way.
"Kat," Adri said, turning to me with eyes so wide they practically took up half her face. "This Friday. Four days. Jade Kason. I am going to meet him for the first time. This is my moment. This is my destiny."
I tried to keep a straight face but failed miserably. "Adri, breathe," I said, fighting back a laugh. "You're acting like he personally invited you."
She whipped around to face me. "Not yet. But he will. Once he sees me in the crowd, he'll know. He'll feel it."
"Right," I said, nodding seriously. "So, should I start writing your wedding vows, or...?"
Adri shoved me playfully before bolting toward the ticket booth like her life depended on it. I had zero choice but to chase after her, laughing as she nearly tripped over her own feet in her excitement.
The ticket line was long—really long. Adri was practically bouncing in place, her excitement threatening to combust into a full-on meltdown. "Kat, if these tickets sell out before we get to the front, I will actually pass away. You'll have to tell Jade at the concert that I died loving him."
"Not dramatic at all," I teased, shaking my head.
As we stood in line, she kept fidgeting, eyes flicking to the poster every few seconds like it might disappear.
"This is huge, Kat," she murmured, almost to herself. "Jade Kason is finally performing in Coachella. Do you know what this means?"
I smirked. "That your soul is about to ascend the moment you see him in person?"
"Yes!" she exclaimed, completely serious. "Empire Polo Club. The Empire Polo Club. This is historic."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Well, it is his first time in Coachella. You get to witness history firsthand."
Adri grabbed my arm dramatically. "Not just witness. I am living it."
There was no calming her down after that.
After what felt like an eternity, we finally reached the front. Adri slammed her hands on the counter. "Two tickets for Jade Kason! Please, please, tell me you have some left."
The cashier, clearly used to fans like her, chuckled and grabbed three. "You're lucky. These are the last ones we have."
Adri snatched them like they were the most sacred things on Earth. "Three?" she asked, staring down at the tickets in confusion. "But we only need two..."
