It was August fourteenth, a rare bright yet cool day in London, perfect for wandering the city's winding streets.

Juniper had been looking forward to today—she was meeting up with Louis, a familiar and comforting presence in her life. Since the breakup with Jack, everything felt like it was in constant flux, and hanging out with Louis was one of the few things that reminded her of simpler times.

They met up at a small café nestled in the heart of Shoreditch, a neighborhood both of them loved for its bohemian vibe and vibrant street art. (if you ignore the roadmen😝)

Louis had already snagged a table by the window, waving when he spotted her. His warm smile immediately put her at ease, and Juniper couldn't help but feel a rush of gratitude for having a friend like him. They hugged briefly before settling down with their drinks.

"So," Louis began, his eyes scanning her face as if trying to read how she really felt beneath the surface. "How are you really doing?"

Juniper hesitated for a moment, stirring her latte. "It's been... hard, honestly. Some days are better than others, but I'm getting there."

She forced a small smile, but Louis saw through it, as he always did.

He reached across the table, gently squeezing her hand. "I know it's tough. You don't have to pretend with me."

She let out a deep breath, feeling the weight of the past few months catch up to her. "I just wish I didn't still feel so... tangled up in it all. Jack made his choice, but it still haunts me, you know?"

Louis nodded. "It'll take time, but you're stronger than you think. And it's okay to lean on people while you heal." He paused, a teasing smirk creeping onto his face. "Speaking of leaning on people... how's Vinnie?"

Juniper laughed, shaking her head. "Louis!"

"What?" Louis raised his hands in mock innocence. "I just want to know how your 'friend' is doing."

She rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress the small smile that tugged at her lips. "We're just friends, okay? He's been really great, though. Honestly, I don't know what I would've done without him these past few weeks. He's helped me stay afloat, and his friends have been so welcoming. It's been... a nice change of pace being back in LA."

Louis nodded, clearly pleased that she was finding comfort in her new connections. "Good. You deserve to be surrounded by people who care about you."

They spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around London, visiting some of their favorite vintage shops and record stores. It felt like old times—just the two of them, chatting about music, life, and everything in between. Juniper could feel the heaviness in her heart lift slightly, if only for a little while.

As the evening approached, Juniper had another plan—dinner with Taylor Swift and some of their band members.

It was meant to be a celebratory evening before Juniper opened for Taylor's final UK shows at Wembley. The idea of performing at such a massive venue was exhilarating, but the thought of all the attention she would inevitably receive—especially in the wake of her breakup—made her stomach twist.

When she arrived at the restaurant, paparazzi swarmed the entrance, their flashing cameras turning the evening into a dizzying blur of lights. Juniper could hear their voices calling out questions, most of them centered around Jack.
