december 14, 2025The London city lights glistened through the high-rise windows of Jenna's hotel suite as Juniper, Vinnie, Mason, Jasmin, and Louis lounged around, diving into an impressive spread of room service. It was the night before the premiere, and for once, they were all together, an easy, comfortable reunion filling the room with laughter and stories.
"I can't believe you're all here!" Jenna exclaimed, stretching out across the bed, eyes gleaming as she looked at each of them in turn. "Feels like it's been forever."
Juniper grinned, twirling a fry between her fingers. "And we wouldn't miss it for the world! Beetlejuice two premiere? With our girl starring? Of course, we'd be here." She tossed the fry across the room to Vinnie, who barely managed to catch it with a laugh.
"I've missed this," Mason said, leaning back into the couch cushions. "Feels like old times."
"It really does," Jasmin agreed, smiling as she sipped her drink. "So much has happened with everyone, though. It's wild."
Louis shifted, a hesitant look on his face, which Juniper immediately caught. "Spill, Lou. What's on your mind?" she asked, crossing her legs and leaning forward.
"Uh... well," he started, looking nervously between Juniper and the rest of the group. "I, um... I've been seeing someone."
Everyone gasped in mock surprise, teasing him with exaggerated "oohs" and "ahhs." Louis laughed, rolling his eyes but still looking slightly anxious.
Jasmin's face lit up. "Oh my god, finally! We need details!"
Louis rubbed the back of his neck. "It's... it's Lila. We've gone out a few times," he admitted, sneaking a glance at Juniper to gauge her reaction
"Lila Rodriguez?" Juniper asked, her brows lifting, though her voice held an unmistakable note of excitement. "Lou! That's amazing! I knew you two would hit it off."
Relief washed over Louis's face, and he let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "You're really okay with it?"
Juniper waved her hand dismissively. "Are you kidding? I wanted to set you two up because I could see how well you'd fit together. Besides," she added with a small, genuine smile, "you and I will always be best friends first, Lou. I want you to be happy."
He broke into a grin. "Thanks, June. That means a lot."
Louis leaned back, resting his head on Juniper's shoulder, visibly more relaxed now. He and Mason exchanged a fist bump as they chuckled about the new dynamics in their friend group. A few feet away, Vinnie was engaged in an animated conversation with Jasmin about anime's, but every so often, he'd glance Juniper's way, making sure she was okay. Since they'd landed that morning, she'd seemed more contemplative, her mind clearly somewhere else.
Finally, the conversation shifted, and Mason glanced toward Juniper, his tone a little more cautious. "So, uh... has everyone heard that Jack's gonna be at the premiere tomorrow?"
Juniper's fingers froze mid-motion of picking up her milkshake, her face giving away just the slightest twitch of nervousness. She met Mason's gaze, and then the expectant looks from the rest of the group. They knew about the messiness between her and Jack—the missed calls, the awkward silences, the heartbreak—and she could tell they were concerned.
