Jack sat on the edge of a folding chair in the middle of the Avatar set, the vivid green screens stretching endlessly around him.

The set had become quieter in the past couple of weeks—most of the major scenes had been wrapped, and now the remaining days were filled with re-shoots and technical tweaks. For Jack and the younger cast members, that meant shorter days, and for Jack specifically, more time to let his thoughts wander.

Right now, his thoughts were on Juniper.

He glanced at his phone for what felt like the hundredth time that day, scrolling through clips of her tour. The most recent one was from the Baltimore show a couple nights ago, where Juniper had worn a sparkling silver bodysuit that shimmered like liquid gold as she strutted across the stage, owning every inch of it. He smiled as he watched her sing, her voice soaring through the glitchy livestream he'd found on some fan account.

A knock on the side of his trailer door startled him. Jamie Flatters popped his head in, a smirk already forming on his face.

"You're watching her again, aren't you?" Jamie teased as he stepped inside, holding a cup of coffee.

"Caught me," Jack admitted, setting his phone down but not before locking the screen on a still of Juniper mid-laugh, her eyes sparkling under the stage lights.

Jamie plopped down on the small couch opposite Jack, sipping his coffee. "Not that I blame you. She's amazing. I watched some of those clips you sent me, by the way. Your girl knows how to put on a show."

Your girl. Jack's heart fluttered. Oh, how he longed for those words to be true again.

"She does," Jack said, his voice filled with pride. "She's incredible. I just wish I could be there to see it in person."

Jamie tilted his head, studying Jack. "You're really in it, huh? Like, head over heels."

Jack let out a breathy laugh, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, I am. I know I messed up before, but I'm trying to do everything I can to make it right this time."

Jamie nodded, his expression softening. "She's lucky to have you too, man. And honestly, it's been nice seeing you like this again. You were kind of unbearable when you two broke up."

"Thanks for that," Jack said dryly, though a small smile tugged at his lips.

"I mean it," Jamie said, leaning forward. "You've been sending her gifts, flowers, all that romantic stuff, right?"

"Yeah," Jack said. "I've sent her flowers after almost every show—different kinds each time. And I've been leaving little notes with them, reminding her how proud I am of her. This morning, I sent her favorite pastries from that bakery in Philly that she used to go to as a kid."

Jamie whistled, impressed. "Nice touch. Have you heard back from her?"

"She texted me a picture her with the box," Jack said, pulling out his phone to show Jamie. The image was of Juniper holding the delicious treats in her hands, a soft smile on her lips. "She said they made her day."

Jamie grinned. "Sounds like you're doing something right."

"Maybe," Jack said, leaning back in his chair. "But it still doesn't feel like enough. I'm halfway across the world, watching from a screen while she's out there living her dream. I just... I want to do more, you know?"
