SPECIAL EPISODE
"WRITTEN ON THESE WALLS ARE THE COLORS THAT I CAN'T CHANGE"

...Flashback, Mystic Falls, 2007...

A new school year is always a challenge. Doesn't matter if you're 5 or 15, we'd always get that fuzzy feeling inside our stomach.

Believe it or not, but ever since little Rosalind Gilbert stepped into pre-school, it opened its arms like it was waiting for her this whole time.

She's always the smartest, gorgeous and adorably bubbly girl the whole city always knew and loved.

It was hard for Grayson to take his little girl to school for the first time, when she was 5. He didn't even want to let her little hand go, afraid she might scratch her leg or get her heart broken.

At much cost, Miranda got him to finally let the little blonde girl out of his arms, towards her classroom, where many and many other kids were already there. Not that it was a big surprise, but all the kids surrounded Rosalind as soon as she entered there.

Soon, the teachers started to notice some peculiarities about the little Gilbert. She'd remember anything and everything, absorb an impressive amount of information, speak like someone at least 6 years older than her and understand matters that even her parents didn't.

I won't even start with all the problems involving guardianship council. Because apparently, the Gilbert family wasn't 'providing' enough structure for a special child like her.

You can imagine the plot behind it...

But just as they expected after all of this, the bubbly blonde girl flourished to be the prettiest girl in town, giving all the types of grey hairs and heart attacks in Grayson.

Not just this though. Her beauty, intelligence, kindness, her whole personality always conquest people everywhere, ever since she was just a little baby, a toddler.

Now, at the age of 17, almost 18, Rosalind has the whole town at her feet. Especially the school.

Everyone knows, speaks and wants to be somewhere closer to her.

If being the cheerleaders captain wasn't enough, the girl graciously made her way into the volleyball team and soccer team, also as the captain, which led her to be offered scholarships not only because of her grades, but also thanks to the sports.

"Hurry up!" Miranda Gilbert says, placing a plate full of scrambled eggs on the table for breakfast.

A fourteen years old Elena Gilbert is sitting by the table, eating breakfast.

Blame her, but first days of school always got her nerves on high. The completely opposite from her sister.

Jeremy comes downstairs, half awake, half asleep.

Miranda sees her youngest child with his sneakers untied, his shirt on the opposite side and his hair all over the place.

"Good morning, sweetie!" she chuckles, running her hand through his hair, trying to make it less messier.

The twelve year old boy only yawns, giving his thumbs up.
