'Monte's Pov'

She was so breathtaking, her expression spoke volumes about her thoughts, and she was happy at my explanation and yet confused. "Why would someone not want that? Someone who is always with you, never alone, someone who always has your back." She said, I smiled at her question. "I have that same thought every time someone tells me they don't want to be mated," I said, she smiled back at me and moved so she wasn't sitting so stiffly. She hadn't fully relaxed since she woke up, I felt a burning ache in my chest, a need to make sure she was comfortable and safe. "Commander, the general says to prepare to move out." I nodded and stood up, I held my hand out to Sabine and lifted her when she took it. "Let the general know we are on our way out," I said, he put his fist over his heart and walked out. I grab a pair of running shoes hoping they are her size, when she goes to put them on I can tell they are slightly too big, but she says nothing and weirdly ties them. " Ready?" She said, nodding I took her hand and guided her outside. One of her curls was sticking up on the top of her head, I lifted my hand and smoothed it down feeling its softness on my fingers.

Once we reach outside I see Saint standing in front of everyone, his arms behind his back. Azel sat on the side a large sac was hanging from his neck and looking as if he was guarding it. "Monte and Gore you guys will be with Sabine making sure she is keeping up and we all stay together while we travel. The night is coming so there will be animals out there and we want to avoid the humans. We don't stop until we're at the next checkpoint." He explains, we all nod and then salut. "You can get on my back or Gore's back while we run," I said, hoping she would choose me. "You," she said simply. I smile bending so she can hop on. Once she's on I move her so she's more comfortable on my back. Her thighs were wrapped tightly around my waist but I used the excuse of holding her up to rest my hands up under her thick thighs. I have been holding myself back from admiring her figure, but I can't help but stare when she's not looking. Her beauty catches the eye of all who see her, the men are bold in their observations of her. If I wasn't constantly near her they'd try to offer themselves to her.

"Let's go!" Saint yells, when he takes off everyone follows closely after him. I feel her grip me tighter when I take off. She was light, but her weight on me made me feel centered and grounded.

'Sabine's Pov'

It took us five hours to get to the next checkpoint, which was a camp of sorts. Monte set me up in a tent and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep. When I woke up the next morning I noticed how quiet it was outside. Sliding my shoes on I walk out looking for Monte, but once I step out of the tent a hard chest greets me. "Saint," I said taking a step back. "Hello Sabine, I was coming to check on you." He said, his voice was always rough and confident but when he talked to me he sounded like a robot. "I am alright, I just woke up. Have you seen Monte?" I question looking behind him as if Monte was hiding behind him. "He is training with some of the other men." He said, I followed him to a large field where Monte was shirtless and fighting against two men. His muscles were huge, and the armor he was wearing hid most of his physical build. His hair dripping with sweat hung on his face, his face was focused. When they charged at him at the same time, he slid slightly to the side without me seeing causing them both to go flying past him. He elbowed one of them while they were trying to fully understand what happened, he swung his leg up looking as if he was about to kick the other guy in the face, but before the kick could land the guy moved. He was facing me now and I realized it was the guy from earlier, he smiled at me and turned back to the fight. Monte notices where I'm standing lifting his eyes and staring into mine.

He gives me a sexy smirk before fighting harder against his opponent. They are fighting more quickly, their movements blurred. Soon Monte has the upper hand and the other guy is moving a lot slower than when they first began. Monte punches him in the stomach, and then when he's bent down Monte puts his fists together and slams them down onto his back. Shouts and cheering sound around the clearing, Monte walks towards me with a deliciously sexy smile. "Did you enjoy the show?" He said his voice dripping with confidence. I smile, making sure to look him in his eyes. "I loved it, i've never seen men fight like that." I said Saint clears his throat behind me."We are going to move during the day today, hopefully, we can make it to the next checkpoint before anyone notices Azel." Monte nods and looks back at me. " Would you like help taking down your Tent?" He said, "Yes, Please." I said, Saint grunts but moves out of the way for us.

We are done in less than five minutes, everyone is packed up and we are on the move. After a few hours of running see a thick line of people standing in front of us. "Everyone in formation!" Saint yells, instantly everyone is placed like a barrier between me and the people in front of us. "She is protected at all costs," Saint said and everyone answered back with a yes sir. 'These are our enemies?' Azel questions, 'Yes, they are the bad guys.' I said, he crouched low, in a fighting stance. Monte keeps me on his back and when everyone starts moving closer to the line of men, he takes off to the left while everyone moves forward. I hear loud gunshots ring out as we move around the clearing. I looked to where the line of men was and saw that they were moving out of the way as something large and hairy came running from behind them.

"What the fuck is that?" I said, Monte looked behind us for a second and then darted to the right. We are headed directly to where Saint is standing over four dead bodies, "They have a Fenrir, we need to get her out of here." Monte said, Saint grabbed me off of Monte and held me bridal style. I looked to where the 'Fenrir' was and saw that Azel had started fighting it. I felt pain in my stomach and gasped, lifting my shirt I saw bleeding claw marks. "Their connection is stronger than we thought." Saint said, I screamed when I felt a bite land on my shoulder. Monte is suddenly running towards the battle between the two large animals. He charges, darkness clinging onto him like a second skin, into the giant wolf-like creature, the large creature whimpering at the contact. I push out of Saint's arm and when my feet hit the ground I take off running to where Monte landed. I don't make it far before Saint is grabbing me and pulling me back. When I'm trying to break out of his hold I see the Fenrir getting up, Its eyes are pitch black but something feels wrong. I felt somewhere in my mind, a piece of it was reaching out as if looking for something. When It gets to the Fenrir it latches on and slowly starts to take away the wrongness that sits in the creature's head. It felt as if rot was surrounding its mind. After what felt like forever it was all gone, clean for the rot. Its mind was complicated and intelegent, I could feel what it was feeling and sense that it was angry but scared and confused.

"ATTACK!" Someone yells and a larger group of men come from out of the trees. Saint moves me so I'm not facing the enemy. I connect to the creature's mind and try to communicate. 'Those humans are the ones who trapped you, who hurt you. Take your revenge and don't let them get away with hurting you.' I push the message hard into It's mind again. It moves into a fighting stance again but this time he is facing our enemy. He charges and Azel follows behind him.
