'Monte's Pov'
I can practically feel her happiness, she smiles the entire way to the living room. She looks like a goddess in the Aquin fabric, and I'm not the only one who notices. Everyone stops what they're doing to look at her beauty, Saint is standing in the middle of everyone debriefing them on what is to come but he stops mid-sentence jaw dropping slightly. She doesn't pay any attention to them though, her focus seems to be on the plate of food sitting on the table. I chuckle before grabbing it for her, she immediately grabbed the plate from my hands and found a seat at the small table near the window. Saint snaps out of it when she sits down and gets everyone's attention going back to the debrief. I can't help myself and find a seat right across from her, knowing if I sat right next to her I wouldn't be able to keep myself from touching her. "When we get some alone time after we reach Sulden I'll take you to the night market, you can get more of the Aquin fabric or we can watch some of the performances," I said. After swallowing some of the beef stew, she smiled and nodded. "I think that sounds amazing, I am so excited to see everything, I wonder if they'll have a problem with me bringing Fen," She said with a happy smile. "Fen?" I said, she pointed to where Azel and the Fenrir sat under a tree, both looking on the verge of sleeping.
" He doesn't remember the name his pack gave him so I decided that I'd give him one. He and Azel feel closer to me than anyone or anything I've ever had and I feel responsible for him. He is so young and in a lot of ways he and I are alike, I plan to smother him with as much love as I can muster." She said, not taking her eyes off of him. The pain she has had to go through shows and seems to make her shine more, her strength is overwhelming and it makes her even more beautiful. "Well, what if he doesn't like the name Fen?" I ask playfully, she chuckles slightly before her expression becomes more concentrated. After a second she giggles, her voice light and happy, putting a wide smile on my face. "He said he wants a cooler name," She said, I laughed at his childish response. "I'm sure we can come up with something easily," I said, after a while, we settled on the name Silver, and he agreed almost immediately.
When she finishes eating I take her bowl into the kitchen and wash it out. "Who is she?" I hear behind me, I internally groan knowing this is going to irritate me. "If Saint hasn't explained then you know I can't tell you," I said turning and facing Marah, she has always had a habit of getting under my skin. As a member of the queen's guard and a fire elemental, we are often in the same place at the same time. She loves attention and is one of the best actors i've seen, Queen Asha normally sends her on missions that require extra persuasion. She makes it her mission to try to tempt me even though she normally sleeps with Saint and a few of the other guards. "I'm sure I'll know soon," she said, trying and failing to seem uninterested.
I roll my eyes and make my way back to where I left Sabine, the sun was setting when we got here and now the moon was starting to rise. The light was hitting her skin making it glow, she was looking out of the window still seeming lost in thought. I wasn't stupid enough to assume that she wouldn't be courted by many or that she wouldn't accept more than one person to be her mate. Most women in Sulden have many suitors or mates, though most don't end up mating, but I hoped that we'd become close enough for her to consider it. "We will be at the rip tomorrow and we need to make sure she is ready to enter. The council wants us to make sure to be at the Blaze palace quickly, she will need to be presented to the council as well." Saint said from beside me, I knew he had been watching her as well. I knew he watched her and not in a calculating way, he wanted her, badly. Saint was a mysterious man, not many people knew where he came from or his story and it was because he made sure it was that way. He didn't get close to anyone and made sure that all interactions weren't personal.
"I will take care of her and make sure she's ready," I said, he nodded but didn't turn to me. I walked back to where she was and sat in my original seat. She looked at me with a sleepy smile, "Why don't you go and get some sleep." I said, "Will you sleep with me?" She said she didn't seem in the least embarrassed. "I'd love to," I didn't bother telling Saint knowing he was still at the door listening to our conversation. Grabbing my hand she led me to the bedroom I had helped her dress in. Once inside she shut the door she moved to sit on the edge of the bed. "You know Monte, at Ghost all of my decisions were made for me I was told when to eat, what to eat, what to wear, who to talk to, never truly finding myself. I hope when we get there that I can do the things I want and that I never feel powerless again." She said her voice barely above a whisper, "I want to experience new things and do the things I want to do without having to answer to someone, and as scared as I feel, the connection I feel to you makes me feel like I can trust you, which isn't something I often do." I knew the connection she was talking about, which feels like it's growing with each second we spend with each other.
"I feel the same way, It is hard to put into words but I know what you mean, I can't say that I understand your pain but I can say that I will make sure you never feel either. You'll see how others outside of the council's guard and queen's guard treat me soon and I don't want you to fear me as they do. My race isn't treated kindly in Sulden, as Shadows, we are the children of the god of darkness. We can bring death to many and because of that I have killed many and will more than likely kill more. I feed on the life force of other beings." I said, "It was something that wasn't supposed to be known but when I was a boy my mother hid me in the human world, we lived quietly until my powers manifested and killed a boy, someone I had called a friend at the time but turned out to be the son of a very very evil man, Fox Randell, the good doctor of Ghost Asylum. After that, he tried to hunt me and my mother until we made it back to Blaze, where the council took us under their wing. My mother mated with someone on the council and soon I was put into a training camp and soon I was using my gift constantly learning how to feed without killing and how to kill without killing." I finish, She sat the entire time with her hands wrapped in mine.
"You aren't at fault for something that happened by accident. You don't let this thing hold you back from living and you own your power. I don't even know what I am so I don't think I'm one to judge." She said, with a slight chuckle. I moved so I sat closer to her, she looked up and we stared at each other for a second before the pull became too much. We jumped each other, I pulled her so she was straddling my hips, gripping her hair in my fist I kissed her like my life depended on it. She gasped into my mouth before her hands found their way into my hair. After she relaxed a little she got more into the kiss, her whole body melted into mine, she was soft and warm her body felt like the perfect weight. The kiss didn't let up, kissing her felt like having sex, she tasted like sin and she was showing her enjoyment by grinding down into my already hard dick.
I groan into her mouth when she pulls my hair so hard it makes me bend my head back. She pulled away and looked into my eyes with so much trust and mischief. "I think you're wearing too many clothes."
