Not Without Sin

Chapter Thirteen

'Sabine's Pov'

I feel my cheeks heat at the way look they give me. "By the gods, you are the most enchanting creature I've ever been blessed to lay my eye upon. "Oliver breathes out like he was out of breath. Monte comes to stand in front of me before dropping to his knee and taking my hand in his. He looked up at me as he kissed it, "I am truly blessed to be able to be near you." He says as he looks me in the eyes. Our moment is broken when I see a tiny version of Silver shooting past Azel's large legs. I feel his happiness at seeing me through our bond. I squeal at his cuteness, "Oh Sliver look at you, you are so handsome." I said as he jumped into my waiting arms. 'Look Look!' He says happily, I laugh at his excitement. 'I am so proud of you my love' I said with a happy smile. "He got it on the first go," Monte said proudly. I turn and look up at Azel, 'Did Monte fill you in?' I ask, 'Yes he did, I will go and search for my family if there is anyone left. I will always be able to feel you child, and if you need me I will be there as soon as I can.' His tone was solemn but I knew he meant what he said. Walking up to him I raise my hand towards his face silently asking for him to come closer. When he does I rub his nose in a silent goodbye. After our moment he pulls away and turns towards the open field before charging and taking off into the sky.

"I have our carriage waiting, the ride should be an hour no longer," Oliver said, I turned with Silver in my arms and followed him out to the front of the estate where a large horse-drawn carriage sat waiting for us. I gasped in happiness at the sight, "I saw this in a movie once, in the Rec room we were allowed to watch a movie although I don't remember the title there were women in corsets and it was like a historical movie." I said as I walked up to the horse and petted its nose. "Well lovely I will find a way for you to watch it again if that is what you desire." Oliver came up behind me giving me a flirty smirk. I chuckle and turn to face him, "I would love that, you know what I'd also love?" I asked, he looked eager to please as he listened to my request. "If you had a snack for Silver." I giggled as he scrambled to find something for him to snack on. When he presents him with a large bone with meat still on it. "Let us start our journey, I am going to check on Maeve to make sure she is ready for the journey," H said, I thought for a moment and when I looked up he was on his way inside. "Wait!" I called out to him.

"Can Layla come too? She can be my ladies' maid." I said, he nodded his head and walked inside. Monte came up behind me sliding his hands to my waist making sure to be careful of Silver still in my arms. I feel his breath in my ear as he whispers, "How are you dealing with everything love?" I shiver at the feeling of his breath on my ears. "I am dealing, honestly having you with me has made everything easier to accept," I said, meaning every word. He kisses the side of my neck teasingly, "I know that it will be hard for you to understand a lot of the ways we do things and I want to make sure you understand everything that comes your way. So don't be scared to ask me questions." He said, I turned in his arms almost squeezing Silver in between us. "Thank you," I said, His eyes showed his sincerity. "Madam," I hear Layla say, I look and see that she is standing behind Monte. "His Highness told me that you requested for me to be your ladies' maid, I feel the need to tell you that I have no experience of being a ladies' maid. I hope I do not disappoint you miss," She said.

I chuckle, "I don't mind I have no experience either if that makes you feel any better. We can figure it out together." I said, she nodded before directing some men to put what I am assuming is her stuff onto the back of the carriage. Oliver comes out with a different outfit on, Maeve following behind him. "Are you guys ready?" He said I nodded before taking his hand and climbing into the carriage. The inside was beautiful and spacious, there was just enough room for all of us to sit comfortably. The inside felt like I was sitting on a cloud, the lining of the carriage was full of comfortable pillows and seating that you wouldn't find inside a luxurious car.

"Since you aren't used to riding inside of a carriage for long periods of time we are going to stop a few towns over and rest before the sun goes down. I figured it would be best if we weren't sitting for too long." Oliver said as he found his seat inside of the carriage. Monte came in behind him sitting on the opposite side of me, Silver had fallen asleep and was now cuddling into my arms. I nodded at Oliver before opening the small window that sat on the right side of me. It was covered by a small piece of thick fabric, we were moving just a tiny bit slower than a car would. For some reason I had a feeling that a normal horse didn't run this fast, but instead of saying anything or asking any questions I watched as the trees flew past us. "So lovely, what else have you not had the chance to experience?" Oliver asked me sitting with one leg crossed over the other. "Not much honestly," I said allowing myself to feel pity for myself, something I don't allow often.

"Well when we stop It should be just in time to catch a show, they have many theatre troupes riding through the village we will be staying in. Why don't I get us tickets to a showing?" He said, I think for a moment before replying, "I don't think I am much of a theatre or musical person." I said, I felt Monte grip my hand before I heard his voice in my head, 'I am proud of you love, you don't have to do anything you don't want and If he has a problem with that then he does not deserve you.' I nod before turning to Oliver, "Monte said that he'd take me to a night market, Do they have something like that?" I ask, Oliver thinks for a moment before nodding and then snapping as If an idea hit him. "I have the perfect thing." He said he doesn't say more so I find myself just petting Silver for most of the ride.

After an hour or so of spotty conversation, Oliver seems to have had enough, "So Sabine, Since you grew up in the human realm, have you seen an Airplane?" He asks, I laugh before thinking for a moment. "Yes, I have you, not many times but I have." I said, "I have never been to the human world, I heard it was dirty and full of foul people who kill." He said, I chuckle. "Yeah, I don't think I'll miss anything from there." I said, "Well you're in for a treat. I love Bessa it is my favorite city. The place we will be staying is close to the inner city." He said, "I have only been to Bessa a handful of times and I believe the last time was full of pulling apart guards from drunken fights." Monte adds, as I went to ask a question about the city the carriage stops abruptly.

Oliver goes to see what caused the commotion, I look out the window to see if I can get a glimpse of what happened. All I am able to see from the small window is trees blowing in the wind. Suddenly I hear a shout sound from the front of the carriage and go to see what happened for myself. Monte follows closely behind me and as we both exit I watch as an ugly bald man pulls out a whip and cracks it on a woman's back. I move quickly before anyone can stop me and bulldoze my way to him knocking him over in the process. He yelled as many curse words as he could while lifting himself off of the ground slowly. "Who do you belong to girl!"
