Chapter Twenty Six - Complete Mess

Abby's POV

San Fransisco Day 5

John and I got in trouble yesterday for coming home so late. It really wasn't even that late, Derek was just mad because I wasn't telling him what we did. And before you jump to conclusions, John and I didn't do anything bad. After we went to the restaurant, we didn't wanna go home yet, so we went to the park, laid down and pretended to look at the starts. We came home around 1 am. After an old man came up and laid down next to us. John and I found this hilarious, but Derek just thought it was dangerous. His 'punishment' for this is making us do the dishes the rest of the time we're here. Which is only two more days.

I honestly can't believe how fast this week is going. In only 4 days I've seen so much and done so much, I'm sad to say it's almost over. Derek and I haven't had a whole bunch of one on one time between John coming and Casey always barging in, so we decided that today was gonna be a day for just us.

Derek has the whole day planned out, but he won't tell me any of it. It's making me quite mad but I'm really excited. Before Brianna dumped Derek, he would always do this. He would plan a day out for us, and wouldn't let me know a single detail of it until it happened. They were always really fun days, so I'm looking forward to today a lot.

I got up from my bed and ran into the living room, which is John's bedroom for the time we're here. Derek doesn't think it's right to let us share a room, even if we do it on a normal basis. I jump over the couch, onto John.

"Abby!" John yells once he figures out what woke him up. I just bust out laughing.

"I loveee you Blueee," I drag out.

"I love you too Abs. I just don't love it when you wake me up like this." I laugh again, before I kiss him. "Now that, that I love waking up to." I laugh again, and don't have a chance to say anything because Derek comes out of his room. "That, I do not want to ever wake up to," John jokes, referring to Derek in his boxers.

"The only way I'm putting some clothes on is if my sister gets off of you." Derek's winks at me. I slowly get off of John, and sit on the floor next to the couch instead. "Now, Abby, you have to get up and get ready. Today's our day! No John, and no Casey!" I nod and slowly get up, asking John what he's going to do today.

"Well, I was just planning on going over to Casey's, seeing what's up."

"Sounds good, have fun today Blue!" I say, kissing his check before running back to my room.

"You too Babe, love you!" I instantly blush before yelling back I love you too. As soon as I say it, I hear a groan from Derek. I laugh as I get ready for the rest of the day.

After getting ready, Derek took me out for breakfast. But it was at 11:30, so more like brunch. He took me to a cute little dinner not far from his apartment. After we ate, we went and saw Fantastic Four. Which is an amazing movie, and in which Miles Teller is the best actor ever. But after the movie, we came to the roller rink. And let me tell you, it has not been pretty.

I've never been roller blading before, and it shows. I've fallen probably twenty times, and each time Derek just laughs. He's been trying to teach me how to do it, but since I can't figure it out, he's been pulling me around the rink. He apparently loved doing this when he was here, so he's really good at it.

He lets go of my hands one more time, and I got pretty far before falling over this time. But when I fell over, someone tripped and fell over me. I instantly started to apologize, but once I saw who it was, I froze. As soon as Derek saw who it was, he got mad and started yelling at him to get off of me and out of here.

It's Jason. Jason Anderson. Brianna's little brother. I've only ever had one serious boyfriend before John, and it was the guy who is in front of me now. He is two years older than me, and one year younger than Brianna and Derek. Once Derek and Brianna started dating, I saw a lot of Jason, and it kinda expanded from there. Their parents were extremely kind, and I'd stay over there sometimes, to hang out with Jason, Brianna and Derek. Some people might have found this weird, but it worked for us. This is until I found Jason in bed with Alison, a girl from his class. I had fell hard for him, but he had been in the relationship for one thing, and when he found out I wasn't going to give it to him, I was 14 for Christs sake, he went to other people to get it. I was heart broken, but John and the other five were there to help me threw it. This is the main reason I got mad at Danielle whenever she would mention John cheating with me. He knows how much cheating affects people, and I would never ever do that to someone else.

I snap back to the present when Derek lands a punch on Jason's face. I jump up, but with the roller skates on I fall right back down, and resort to yelling at the two of them to stop. By now, we have gotten the attention of everyone, and of course Brianna has to come running out to get them separated. Between her and two guys that stepped in to help, they finally got the two separated. And if there was a winner, it would definitely be Derek.

Derek only has a bruise on one cheek bone. Well Jason had much more injuries. I went over to Derek, fussing over him, asking him if he was okay.

I can't believe that both Jason and Brianna are here. They are our least favorite people, both having hurt both of us a lot. We never want to see them, but to have them both show up so suddenly is shocking.

Once Derek calmed me down, we skated off the rink and left, without once looking back. Jason and Brianna are a part of our past we don't want to go back to. We apologized to the workers there for making a scene and walked out of there, calm and collected. But once we were in the taxi and far away from the rink, we both broke down. I started having a panic attack, and Derek was holding his head in his hands. Seeing them both so unexpectedly was a bit tragic. Once Derek noticed me, he just brought me over to him and pulling me into his lap.

"I'm so sorry for that happening, Abs. I can't believe they're here." Derek says. Eventually, my breathing went back to normal, and I just couldn't wait to get back to the apartment and John. I pulled out my phone and texted John.

Saw Jason and Brianna at skating rink. On way back now.

His reply was instant.

At the movie store, be back as soon as I can with movies and ice cream.

I smiled, John is exactly what I need. Without him I would be a complete mess.
