Chapter Twenty Five - True Love Lives On

Abby's POV

San Fransisco Day 4

My week with Derek is half over. I honestly don't want this week to end. I'm in San Fransisco with my brother and John. What can get better than this?

Today, Casey and Derek are going to show John and I around their campus for a bit. Then they're going to a meeting thing. And John and I get some alone time. The whole time he's been here, we've had a total of two seconds alone. Derek or Casey is always barging in on us. We haven't even kissed since he got here either. Derek won't let it happen. Yes, I love my brother, but he is the most annoying person ever.

"Abby Mae, time to leave." I jump at John's sudden appearance. He walks into my room, laughing at my jumping. "Yeah, we gotta leave, so we can get to that alone time." He winks at me and it's my turn to laugh.

"Okay, okay, okay! I get it! I'm just surprised Derek isn't in here yet." I laugh, and get up, jumping into his arms and wrapping my legs around his waist.

"Me too. I can't wait to have you all to myself today." He kisses my check, and just as he was going to kiss me, guess who shows up.

"I told you to come in here to get her to leave, not for you to rape her." I hide my face in John's chest as he sets me down, mumbling a sorry to Derek. "Okay, well let's go!" Derek yells as he pulls me away from John. We meet Casey in the living room, and he just laughs at us. Derek continues to pull me all the way down the stairs and into the lobby. He lets go of me once were there and instantly starts complaining that the other two aren't here yet. As soon as the two of them are next to us, we are on our way to their campus.

It took two hours for them to show us all the way around their campus. To be honest, John and I are really anxious to get away from them, but we know if we show it. They won't let us be alone.

The last stop we're at is the campus store. Derek has gotten most of this stuff before, but he decided that he was going to get us both some things.

When we left, John had a shirt and sweatshirt and I had two shirts, three sweatshirts, sweatpants and he even got me a hat. I don't know why Derek decided that we needed this stuff, but he threatened to make us stay at their meeting with them if we didn't let him get us this stuff.

As we walked off the campus, saying good bye to the two boys, I couldn't help but feel free. I tugged on his hand until we were both running. We ran all the way back to the apartment.

Once we got there, we threw all of our new things in my room and we both changed into new clothes. We planned on going out for a nice dinner tonight, after walking around town for a while.

After I got ready, I walked into the living room. When I saw John, my breath hitched. He's wearing dark jeans and a baby blue dress shirt, tucked in and the sleeves are rolled up. He actually combed his hair, and I can't believe how lucky I am.

I run up to him, and kiss him deeply. Ecstatic that we finally aren't interrupted.

John's POV

As she walks into the room, I can't believe how lucky I am. She's wearing leggings and knee high boots, with a brown cardigan. I can't believe that she is all mine. Before I can say anything, she running towards me and is soon in my arms and kissing me. I haven't been able to kiss her since I got here, and finally being able to is amazing.

We got out of the apartment a little later than we would have thought. We got a little caught up, not that I'm complaining or anything.

Because of that, we had to go straight to the restaurant instead of walking around first. Yet again, not that I'm complaining. The restaurant is a place my mom recommended. Before I came, she gave me a list of great places to go. Apparently her and dad came here before they had any kids.

The place we're going is tucked in between a library and a big fancy restaurant. We walk in and are soon sitting because of our reservations.

"I'm actually surprised that you got us reservations," Abs said, once we sat down.

"Hey! I can be responsible, and I wanted tonight to be great!" I smile at her, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"I honestly don't know how I got so lucky."

"I'm the lucky one here," I whisper, as I lean over the table to kiss her.

"You guys are such a cute couple," an old lady says as she walks up to the table with our menus. "You guys remind me of me and my husband when we were younger." I smile at Abs as she blushes.

"Thanks, that means a lot," I say to the lady as I continue to look into Abby's eyes.

"You guys are so cute! Ah!" She continues to coo at us as she takes our order. The whole time Abby's face is deep red. When she leaves Abby hides her face in her arms. I laugh, knowing that her face with be red for a long time.

"I like her," I laugh, winking at Abby when she picks her head up.

"Oh shut up!" She laughs. We joked around until our food came. This place may be small, but there food is amazing. When I asked for the check, I was kindly turned down.

"You guys remind me to much of my husband and I when we were young. I can't charge you!" This lady had quickly became my favorite person.

"That's crazy! You can't expect me to not want to pay you for this amazing food!" I tell her, her smile only widened.

"You guys being together is good enough payment for me. It shows me that true love still lives on!" She chuckled before walking away with a smirk. When I looked over at Abby, her mouth was wide open and her cheeks were tinted again.

"That actually just happened." She says, I only laugh at her. I felt bad not paying, so I left a $40 dollar tip and walked Abby out of the restaurant.

We both didn't want to go back yet. We knew as soon as we went home we wouldn't have any privacy again.

3 more days until we leave for LongBeach.

3 more days until I have Abby to myself.

We were flying from San Fransisco to Montana. Where my mom and dad are meeting us. They're taking our stuff from this week and giving us our stuff for the next week. Then heading back with one car and we'll drive to LongBeach with the other.

LongBeach is a campground about three hours from Cedarburg. My parents brought us there once for a family event and it became a tradition for the seven of us to go every year, the week before school starts. This year it will be eight though. Coles bringing Ally. 

As I think about this I can't help but stop walking. Abby instantly turns around and looks at me with a weird look. I just smirk as I move towards her, her smile grows as she figures out my plan.

I kiss her deeply, extremely glad that I get to call this girl mine.
