Abby's POV

I open my eyes up to a blinding white light. Every part of my body hurt. I try to move and soon there's tons of people around me. Telling me to sit down, not to move and other things I didn't pay attention to. The only person I was focused on was John. He was sitting on a chair pulled close to my bed and he was holding my hand. His eyes were red and he had bags under them. Anyone could tell that he hadn't slept. Soon, I heard a strong voice.

"Abby, I'm Doctor Bennett. You have been out for two days. You have two broken ribs which is why you have that wrap around them. You also had to get stitches up your left arm and on your right check. Everything will probably be sore and it will be hard to move because of your ribs. You will come back in two weeks so I can see how they are healing. If you are leaving with some one here, you can leave now." After that little speech, it seemed like I couldn't speak at all. I didn't know what I was going to do. I didn't want to go back to my house and my dad won't come to get my out of here anyways.

"She'll be coming home with me, sir. Is their anything that I need to sign or something," Mama Meyers said. I could tell she has been stressing out, but she's my savior.

"Yes, just come with me," Dr, said, leading her out of the room. I looked around the room and saw that every single one of the Meyers were here, even the girls, and Brinley, Jade, Creo, Cole, and Josh. Every person has some sign of being stressed out. All the girls had messy hair, red eyes and bags around their eyes, and with Brinley that's very rare. She always keeps herself all nice and pretty, and she never cries.

With everybody being here I noticed how good of friends I have and how I really do have a good family. No, not my blood relation. My other family, the Meyers.

It took a really long time for Mama Meyers to convince Dr. Bennett to let me go home with her because she wasn't blood related. But after one long speech where everything came out about my actual family, he let me go. I changed and we left. We had four cars at the hospital. I went with John, Marcus and Jarrett. John and I took up the back seat. I laid down with my head on his lap. The hour back to their place was one interesting one. I loved how not one of them treated me differently. There was a lot of weird singing for the two up front and lots of painful laughing for me.

Right when I got out of the car, I got bombarded with hugs. I looked over to Kevin for help. I know these people won't do anything to me but it still freaks me out.

"Okay people. I think she's had enough." He yelled. Everyone slowly walked away, except for John. He put his arm around me waist and helped me to the house. I'm pretty sure John is the only one who I would/could let touch me right now. I could hear Josh and Marcus complaining that they wanted to do that. I just smiled. I sat down on the coach and leaned against John.

"Abby, Kevin and I have something that we want to ask you. Since you practically live here anyways this won't be much of a difference, but we were wondering if you wanted to actually live here."Mama Meyers said.

"Are you serious?" I asked. I couldn't believe that they would actually want me to live here.

"Seriously," she laughed. "We could go and get your stuff from your house."

"Your dads already in jail, Abs. He confessed to hitting you multiple times and plus, there was too much evidence against him. So, it would be only your brother there." Kevin said. I couldn't really process what they were saying.

"Um.." I looked at John, he was already smiling at me. "Sure?" It came out more like a question but Mama Meyers squealed anyways.

"I'm soo excited to have another girl in the house!" She yelled then ran back into the kitchen.

"You know that this just means you getta spend more time with me right?" Creo asked.

"Yes, and I know that that's gonna be the worst part." I winked at him. He put on a hurt face and started to fake cry into Cole's shoulder. Josh was on the floor laughing and I could tell John wanted to laugh too. The girls, Marcus, the twins and Jarrett were all laughing their butts off. The expression on Creos face was hilarious. This moment was perfect. I was with my family and my bestfriends, I have a good home, and everyone's laughing and smiling. Even though I was injured I knew nothing could beat this moment right now.

I had the best family anybody could ask for.

After a couple hours everyone dispersed and it was only Jarrett, John and I in the living room.

"Abby, when will you be able to ride again?" Jarrett asks. I had promised him a couple days ago that we'd go down to the creek together.

"Probably not for a while buddy," John answered for me. Anybody could see the disappointment on Jarrett's face.

"But the first thing I'll do when I'm better will be to go riding with you. Okay?" I asked him.

"Okay! You're the bestest sister ever!" he gave me a hug and then left. I'm not sure why but that struck a cord in me. I was a sucky sister to my one real brother. I mean, now he'll have nobody, he'll be all alone. I look up at John and he says something before I can

"Now you wanna go see your own brother don't you?" I only nod. I can't believe how easily John can read me. Sometimes it's like he knows me better than I know myself. "We'll see him when we go get your stuff. I promise."

John's POV

"Abby, when will you back able to ride again?" After Jarrett asks Abs you can see her face drop. I don't think she'll like this conversation very well. So, I go ahead and answer for her.

"Probably not for a while buddy." Jarrett's face completely drops, anybody could see the disappointment in my little brothers blue eyes. I look at Abby, knowing she'll say something to make him feel better.

"But the first thing I'll do when I'm better will be to go riding with you. Okay?" she asks him. His face entirely lights up. He runs over to Abby and hugs her, carefully

"Okay! You're the bestest sister ever!" Jarrett says, then runs out of the room. I look at Abby to see her reaction. I'm kind of afraid of her thoughts on that hug, but she's thinking. I can tell because she rolls her tongue when she does. She turns to look at me and I know what she's gonna say right away.

"Now you wanna go see your own brother don't you?" I ask. She only nods. "We'll see him when we get your stuff. I promise." And I don't break my promises. Her brother use to be like a brother to me. He was always extremely protective over Abby and he always teased her to no end. He had the same girlfriend all through middle and high school, but after graduation she broke it off because they weren't going to be close to each other. That broke him. He dropped out of college and drank, drank and drank. He still does that. I'm not even sure if he knows about what their dad did to Abby. But when we go see him I'm make sure he knows everything he's missed out on in her life .
