Abby's POV
We got the bean bags out of the shed and walked back to the party, slowly. John was still mad at Danielle, And he didn't want to talk to her at all. So, when we got back to the party and she asked us why it took us a half in hour instead of the twenty minutes we said it would; he exploded.
"We walked! It's not like I can know for sure how long that was going to take. It's not like you need to know where I am 24/7." At this point in time I was already having to hide my laughter and Danielle had to try to hide her tears. "I hate how you are always saying that I am cheating on you with Abby. She's like my sister for goodness sakes, I hate how bad you treat other people and how your always bringing others down. You always try to have a smile on your face and act soo nice to everyone when I'm around you, and I hate that. I hate that because everyone knows that you aren't like that when I'm not around. You're actually a very mean person and I can't stand it anymore. You change your personality depending on who you're with. I don't like it. I'm sorry. But right now, I think you should just stay away. I need to calm down. I'll text you later. Sorry." He said, and took a deep breath after his long speech. I felt kind of bad for her; but not that much.
She finally got some of what she deserved.
"Abby, are you coming or not?" I turned and ran to John. One thing I love about John is that he knows when he's mad and stops himself before anything gets out of control. Unlike his oldest brother, Marcus. Marcus has gotten in way to many fights to count. We even had to go and bail him out a couple times.
We started walking towards the field again but another one of Johns siblings pulled up, he has 7 siblings; 2 girls and 5 boys. The girls are the oldest, Macy, 24 and Mary, 22. Then there's Marcus, 21, Mathew, 19, the twins, Mark and Mason, 18. Then John, 16 and the little guy, Jarrett who is ten. The whole clan is like my family. Mama Meyers always calls me her third daughter. I am over there more then I am at my own house. It was the twins who pulled up.
"Do you guys want a ride home?" Mark asked.
"No thanks, guys! But thanks for the offer. It's just that the party has already gotten to boring for us," I tried, hoping that they haven't heard about the "fight" already.
"Nice try, honey bunches of oats. Hop in. We aren't leaving you two to walk wherever you were going." I heard the door open and noticed that John had left my side. I hopped in and Mark pulled away.
Mason was the first one to talk, "so, we heard about your flight. Did you really mean all of that?"
"Uhh.. Yah." Came John's smart reply.
"I can't believe someone actually stood up to her," Mark said, laughing.
"I can. That little girl needed someone to bring her back down to earth," Mason contributed.
"What about you oats? What do you think about Danielle?" I looked over at John, he had his head down and was grabbing his neck with both hands; a clear signal he was stressed.
"I'd rather not say, and you guys shouldn't either." I scooted over and started rubbing John's back, until Mark announced we were back at the house. John and I got out, said are thank you's, and then headed over to the barn. The barn is were we spend most of our time when we are at the his house.
The Meyers farm is huge. They have tons of cows and horses. They kept the old horse barn when they made the new one and they only keep two horses in there. Starlight and Star, mine and John's horses.
We got them when we were eleven and they have been in here since. I love this barn because it has tons of old stuff and has a loft that nobody can see you in from the ground. It's also very comfy. We tend to sleep out here a lot.
We walk straight up the ladder into the loft and sit down. As soon as we're settled I noticed John yawning.
"We should go to sleep, you seem tired. Wanna sleep out here tonight?" I asked, my voice soft. I could tell John was very stressed out. I knew he would regret yelling at her. I liked it when he did it, but not now. I hated seeing him like this. I knew he didn't like talking when he's like this. He nodded, then pulled off his sweatshirt and handed me it. I slipped it on and changed into a pair of shorts that we have stashed up here. When I turned around he was in his boxers and slipping under one of the blankets. We slept on three and had one over us most the time. I crawled over to him and slipped under, too. I felt his arm slip over my waist and his head sneak onto my shoulder.
What? We love to cuddle. Soon after, I was out cold.
***
I slept like a log, this is until I was woken by a very girlish scream.
"I knew you were cheating on me! I knew I shouldn't have trusted you with her! This is crazy. My boyfriend is cheating on me with his bestfriend. Really? I knew you guys shouldn't have been trusted," Danielle yelled at us. If you ever have had someone yell at you the first thing in the morning, you would know it's very hard to pay attention to what they are saying. It was silent for a while before John spoke up.
"I didn't cheat on you. We come up here all the time. I have never kissed Abby, she's like my sister. I would never cheat on anybody. But apparently you don't trust me," he said. "I don't think it's very good if you don't trust me with her." He finished his little speech then laid back down. I looked at Danielle, if looks could kill I'd be seven feet under right now. She mouthed "slut" to me, then stomped her way down the steps.
"Ugh! Stupid ladder! I hate this," Danielle yelled, once she got down and was on the floor.
"Ugh," John groaned, "I just wanna go back to sleep. Come here," he mumbled. I laid back down and we snuggled up and we fell asleep again.
*****
"You guys! Wake up! Mama made lunch. John, it's your favorite!" someone yelled up at us. We both groaned and got up. We climbed down the ladder and their stood Marcus in all his glory. Marcus is the oldest guy in the family. He has been at college for the past couple months, so seeing him here was a surprise.
"Marcus!" I yelled and ran up to him and hugged the crap out of him. All the Meyers give the best hugs in the world.
"Hey little buddy! Lets go!" Marcus said. John ran up behind me and picked me up, threw me over his shoulder and ran all the way into the kitchen. That isn't that small of a run and he set me down acting like he just walked here. That boy is damn fit!
"Morning Mama Meyers!" I said sweetly and sat down at the table. I have my own spot here, sitting in between John and Jarrett.
"It really ain't morning anymore, it's noon. You guys had a pretty good sleep, besides the little birdy coming and waking everybody 'round here up." Mama Meyers explained and gave me a wink. I have no idea what goes around in that lady's mind. Mama Meyers sat down a plate of piping hot lasagna in front of me.
"Now, eat up girly, we can't have you going 'round here hungry. Can we?" All of us dug into the lasagna as if are lives depended on it. I love eating here for two reasons: I actually get to eat. My food doesn't get taken away by my mum who thinks I eat too much, and two, I love Mama Meyers cooking. She could have her own show.
When we were all done, John and I helped clean up by doing the dishes. I love hanging out with the Meyers family. We always joke around and I'm usually laughing the whole time.
"Wanna go hang out with the other people we know?" John asked.
"Sure. I haven't talked to them forever!" I was actually excited. I haven't seen anybody for almost a week, that's a realllyy long time for us. John called everybody and they all said they'd be over in a hour.
I finally get to spend some time with my other friends.
