Chapter Twenty Two - San Fran

Abby's POV

San Fransisco Day 1

As soon as we stepped outside, I instantly noticed the temperature difference. When you live in Montana, the winters are freezing and 70-80 degrees is boiling. Here, I feel like it's 90 degrees, and that's way hotter than I'm comfortable with. I take off my flannel and tie it around my waist, opting for the tank top I had underneath.

"Geez girl, keep your clothes on." Casey laughs, as he takes off his sweatshirt, opting for the tank top he had underneath.

"Suns out, Guns out, Casey." I laugh as Derek proves my point by taking his shirt off and taking a cut off out of his bag to put on.

"She does have a point. We're use to like 60's-70's.. This 90 degrees is quite a difference, dude." Derek explains.

"Well then we best get where were going real quickly," Casey laughs.

"We best!" Derek laughs. We pick up all of our stuff and set off on our walk. Their apparent building is only 5 blocks from the airport. Once we get to their building we part ways and go into different elevators.

"I live in the third floor, and none of my roommates will be here until next week."

"Good job on the debriefing," I laugh as the elevator stops and we step out.

"Nice to see you guys." I look to my right and see Casey getting out of the elevator. "Let me guess, apartment 3B?" Derek nobs and laughs. "I'm in apartment 3A."

"So, we will be seeing a lot, a lot of you," I laugh and bug Derek to open the door. Once he finally does, I race around trying to find the bathroom and seem to find everything but that.

"DEREK! I NEED TO PEE!" I only hear laughing in response. I walk out into the living room and see Derek, Casey, 2 guys, and 3 girls. I instantly start blushing.

"Abby, these are my roommates, Jacob and Tyler," Casey points to the guys. I wave and they wave back. "This is my girlfriend, Cassandra," he points to the girl under his arm with long blonde hair and green eyes. They look so cute together, he's a whole head taller than her, and she fits perfectly under his arm. "This is my cousin, Kelsey," he says next, pointing to the girl with long brown hair, flirting with Tyler. "And this is my sister, Danielle. She got in early." Once she hears her name she turns around from talking with Derek.

"Abby, nice to see you again." She runs up to me and gives me a hug. I look at Derek and give him a 'WTF' look, he just shrugs back. She wasn't suppose to be here. This week was suppose to be a week to get away from everything, and she just has to show up. Of course, she has to ruin this week; which was suppose to be relaxing.

"You guys know each other?" Casey asked, confused.

"Yes, you remember John, right?" Danielle asks. Casey nods. "This is his bestfriend." She puts bunny ears around bestfriend.

"So, you're the one who made John break up with my little sister?" Casey asks. His face had a neutral look, so I couldn't tell if he was mad or not.

"I did not make John break up with her. I actually had no idea John was gonna break up with her. I had nothing to do with them breaking up. That was all him thinking it would be best for himself  to get ride of her."

"I beg to differ. I mean you did convince him to cheat on me with you."

"You're an idiot Danielle, if you think that he would do that to you. John would never cheat on you, he would never cheat on anyone. He is not like that. And even if I did like him at the time like that, I would have never done that to you. Even if I didn't like you, cheating can reck someone, trust me, I would know." Once I finished, I walked out of the living room and went into Derek's bedroom, laying down on the bed. A couple minutes later the door opened.

"You know you shouldn't walk away from your problems." Derek walks over and lays down next to me. I'm instantly taken back to the many times we did this exact thing on his bed when we were younger and our parents had problems.

"She just bugs me to no end. I can't stand her. She blames me for them braking up. She's the reason they broke up. She's mean and John just finally noticed it, that has nothing to do with me."

"I know she does. You should tell her your dating John, then maybe she'll just back off."

"Don't think that'll help much, but it'll most likely come out sometime this week. I can't believe that she's here! Ugh, she just makes me so mad."

"I'm sorry that she's here. I know that this week you were suppose to get away from everything."

"It's okay, it's not your fault." I turn and give him a hug. "I'm just happy get to spend this week with you."

"I'm happy that I'm finally here. I can't believe that everything has worked out so nice. I was able to come back and I already know Casey, who is majoring in the same thing I am. And Plus, I know now that I will always have you, and I hope you know you will always have me. I don't know what I would have done if you and John didn't come that day." By the time he was done, I had tears in my eyes. So much has changed in the past couple months, and I'm so happy for it. Yeah, I might have "lost" my mom and dad, but I was never close with them. But I gained a much stronger bond with John and Derek, and that makes me so happy an lucky.

"I love you, Derek."

"Love you too, Abby."
