Abby's POV

I can not believe he isn't here. He isn't at his own brothers graduation party. How stupid is he. The one time we didn't ride together, this happens, of course. Man, he knows his mum is going to have a hissy fit!

Suddenly, I'm lifted off my feet and being flown through the air. Around and around. After a bit, I'm set back on the ground and he kisses my forehead and then pulls away, smiling.

John has been my bestfriend since we were born. He knows every little thing there is to know about me. He knows every person I've ever liked and every thing I'm insecure about. I'm pretty sure he knows more about me than I do.

I know everything about him too. Like how he bites his lip when he's worried or thinking to hard, and how his left hand shakes when he's nervous and that only happens around his mom or before a game. And how he still has his blanket from when he was little tucked into his pillow. He's just so cute.

"Hey little missy!" John shouted, flipping his blonde hair.

"John! I can't believe you! Your late, I had to make the food, that's not my job. Your just lucky I kept your Mum away," I yelled at him, staring into his blue eyes.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Practice ran late! It's not my fault unless you want to spend the night with a stinky me," he winked. I was still mad at him but decided to let him go for now. I just nodded. "You know what we should do?" He asked, with a smile.

"What?" I ask, only slightly interested, knowing what he was going to say.

"Lets go to the field!" he yells at the top of his lungs. Everybody looks at us and laughs. I smack the back of his head and laugh.

"Fine, Blue, let's go!" I say and start walking away.

We walked from the fair ground/ball park, where the graduation was, to the other side of town, the football field. It's not actually that far, about half a mile, in our little town of Cedarburg. Cedarburg is tiny. It has about 500 people in it. Everybody knows everyone and the classes only have about 20 students in it.

The fairground/ball park is where everything "adult" happens, so John and I are barely ever there. We don't really stay at the parties for very long and everyone knows that. The football field is where we like to go. John's dad, Kevin Meyers, is a big person on the school board so, don't ask me how, he has keys to the school and everything school related. We love to go to the football field because it is blocked in by trees and has two big sheds that we go in when its raining or snowing, the sheds also have all the football equipment and other random things we like to play with. No one is ever there and no one can see you when you are there. The only person that knows that me and John go there is his dad. We like to keep it that way because, then no one can interrupt us.

We are walking through the parking lot, which is open so people can see you, when a car pulls up. It's my least favorite person ever, Danielle Cranke. She is the Queen Bee of our school, like the whole school, not just our class of 29, the whole high school of 98. We're going to be juniors when the next school year starts, and our class is one of the biggest. When my mom graduated from here, her class only had 19 kids. But, with Danielle's dad being the principle, she thinks that  everyone has to bow down.

The Seniors don't like her very much but still listen to her and everyone else listens to her because she's a "big and powerful" Junior. She has never liked me and I'm not sure why she doesn't, it's not like I bullied her. Her dad is the principal and he loves me because I'm the top of my class (not hard to do), so he lets the two of us do anything we want, anything. She dislikes me, and is my best friend's girlfriend. She always thinks that I'm trying to steal him from her. I would never do that, I care to much about John to try and ruin his relationship, even if I don't like it.

"Well, well, well, look who I found. What are you guys doing? I was just headed over to your brothers graduation. I thought you would be there," she said, getting out of her pink convertible and walking over to us. Another thing I don't like about her, she is filthy rich and acts like it 100% of the time.

"We had to get something for Kevin. We'll be back at the party in like 20 minutes. So, buh bye. See yah there!" I said to her, trying to get John away from her. John is the only one that doesn't see past her act that she puts up just for him.

"John, babe, you won't let that, that, that scum talk to me that way will you?" She was flickering her eyelids at John and flipping her blonde hair in a flirting way, I actually felt bad for him right now. He looked up at me and must of saw something on my face because what he said next made me want to cheer.

"She's right. Just go to the party, we have to get something for my dad and we will be right back. and I'll let her talk to you that way, she was the nice one. But, I do not like you talking to her like that. Thank you very much. But, go back to the party, we'll see you there." and with that he walked up to the gate, got the keys out then walked right in without looking back. I was very happy at this moment in time.

"See, best friend's always win." I smirk at her and then follow in John's footsteps. I heard Danielle's car door shut, then pull out of the lot. She's mad. I don't care, I actually think it's quite funny, but I know John will care. Now I'm really dreading going back to that graduation.
