a heart divided:

as i stand at the crossroads, torn apart
two paths lie before me, a heavy heart
one leads to new beginnings, a fresh start
the other, to loves familiar, tender art

a part of me yearns to spread wings and fly
to explore new horizons, to touch the sky
but another part, a deeper, tender core
longs to stay with you, forever more

your eyes, like anchors, hold me in place
your smile, a beacon, lights up the space
my heart, a battleground, where love and doubt collide
a war within, where neither side can step aside

im caught between the thrill of the unknown
and the comfort of love, where i am not alone
the thought of leaving, a painful, hollow ache
but staying, means surrender, for my hearts sake

perhaps, someday, our paths will cross again
and loves flame, though flickering, will reignite its spark within
until then, know that you hold a piece of me
a fragment of my heart, forever wild and free.
