Italian Central Front, 2 Weeks prior to Operation Augustus, June 7th 1647 (1948)

At a train station near the front line, Italians were in a flurry of activity as Supplies, Tanks and new recuirts arrived in large numbers once again, day after day, night after night. It was all Part of Marshals Messe and Wright's Plan.

But, In the middle of the night and under close Guard. A New Tank Regiment arrived at the train station near Kuozo in Hinomawari. Alongside the P-54/47s, some very heavy bulky objects covered in tarps were unloaded from the wagons.

The Italian Plans for the summer of 1647 were a top secret. These objects would remain a mystery for days. Until they were shown to the soldiers at a testing ground.

They were heavy metal rollers for Mine clearing. Attached to the front of the P-54/47s. It transformed the Tank, into a minesweeper. It would destroy any mine in their path, clearing a safe passing for Infantry and Trucks when they attacked.

4 Regiments of these Tanks were assigned to each front. All of which was made in secret, not even the front soldiers, knew of these tanks until June 24th 1948.

Clearly, the Front Commander, Marshal Wright, was planning some sort of Offensive. But to anyone looking from above or from the front, Italian forces across the front and northern front, seemed only to be making defensive preparations.

From the Air, only movement away from the front could be found. Everything was being done to give the impression that this sector was being weakened. And that a Italian Offensive was being done somewhere else, near Catolin or Magicarreich.

On the 6th of June, The day after the Marines landed in Nigrart, Emperor Victor Emmanuel IV wrote to Antonio Salazar, it read ''The Italian Summer Offensive, as was agreed in 1645, shall begin in mid-june at one of the key sectors of the front''.

Which 'vital sector' was not even to be shared with the allies.

In the front lines of the entire continent in June 1647, the Kainish and their forces were firmly on the defensive. As they struggled to help Nigrat Fend off the Italian Landings in the south.

Army Group North was Still Battered over the Brutal Fightings of 1643-46. Army Group South had been destroyed in all but name in 1644-46. Only Army Group Center seemed to be holding firm.

Kainish positions on this front formed the so called 'Hinomawari Balcony'

Here, Army Group Center held firm, during the past, it had managed to successfully repulsed two Italian Offensives near Kuozo and Orshi in the north and south. Adolf Konig and the Kainish Army High Command had much to consider as summer arrived.

They had no firm intelligence on when or where the main enemy offensive would be launched from.

The Kainish decided that Emperor Victor Emmanuel IV and the allies would seek to capitalise on their recent gains in the south. They brought the Allies within a close distance to cut the Magicarreich and Nigrat Countries from Kain's Leifor holdings.

It also brought them within range of the Main Catolin Oil Feilds, which supplied Kain with 25% of their current Oil.

As such in the 1646-1647 Lull, Fresh and presious Kainish reserves of Tanks and Aircrafts were sent south.

When the Italians saw that Kainish Reinforcements were coming south, It only reinforced their decision to launch a offensive in the central front, with the north as well adding in the attack.

Here, Italy would be given the chance to avenge one of its biggest defeats at the start of the war where 10 000 of its best soldiers were annihilated in battle in 1642.
