West Rodenuis Seas, Italian Fleet, May 5th 1646 (1947)

The Italian Planes flew above the Italian Fleet, many of them received small salutes and waves from the crews. They had arrived right in the nick of time yesterday. Now the tide against Kain was turning and quick.

When the Cruisers, Submarines and Destroyers from the northern fleet arrived, they formed a single wedge, attacking the north of the Kainish fleet with a tenacity expected of the italians, they ravaged the northern fleet, forcing the Kainish fleet to retreat in general.

After a 2 day chase, which saw neither side lose a ship as the Kainish fleet used the fact there was a massive fire storm to by pass it, making the Italians go the other way.

By now, the Italians had lost another 5 cruisers, 10 Submarines and 19 Destroyers. Now the Italians had lost 304 Ships, a terrible rate of losses that would take the rest of the year to replace. More so for the Battleships.

This led Emperor Victor Emmanuel IV to issue the Imperial Edict to stop all Battleship production outside those already being built. All other Battleships of Italy, a total of 63 in 9 classes, were to be either scrapped or made into Musuem ships.

Each class would take 2 Battleships to preserve, With the RN Romulus being kept in service.

On the other hand, Kain had taken monsterous losses. They had lost 7 Battleships, 35 Cruisers and 193 Destroyers. Reducing their fleet to only 375 Ships. For the first time in the entire battle, they were the ones with less ships.

It was something that reinforced the idea and fear that they were going to lose the battle badly.

Already the world was being told of the Great Italian-Papaldian Victory, losing 584 ships but having sunken 1025 enemy ships, crippling their entire navy for the future.

But their pride of the fleet, KMS Terror, was still alive, With many wanting to have the RN Romulus to sink the dreaded monster and avenge the Emperor's Brother.

The Order of the day from the High command was: ''Sink the Terror of the seas!''

Today was that day they hoped. They were sending a massive air attack to sink even more ships. The Kainish fleet, after taking what little supplies they could from sinking ships they found, had more than enough to reach back home.

They were making a mad dash home. But the Italians were quicker, had planes and above all, had their codes breaking.

There was no retreat for the enemy.

Italian GJ-1s Swooped down from far above. The sight of them caused panic and terror in the crews of the Cruisers and Battleships, the slower they were, the more of a easy target they were.

The sound of thousands of bombs being dropped was heard, Massive explosions ripped into the hulls of the enemy, sending many crews to a early grave. The lucky ones as the flames claimed more, dying in a painful way as they melted alive.

Over 1000 Planes attacked the fleet from over 16 different directions at once. It gave the illusion that the Kainish were surronded from all sides, when reality was that the Italians were right behind them, as always.

But the Gap had fallen from 190 Kilometers to 50 Kilometers, right in the Range of the RN Romulus, which enjoyed taking potshots at the destroyers, sinking 11 of them so far.

As the planes returned to the Carriers, they had left a destroyed Kainish fleet in their wake. Another 100 Destroyers, 19 Cruisers and 3 Battleships were sunk, causing intense flames to be around the enemy.

Seen from the Italian Fleet not that far away.

Now the gap was only 45 Kilometers. It meant that soon, the Italians were now pushing their engines to the limit. This was it, the final battle, Across all of their Radios, the Battle cry ''Not One step Back!'' Which was used to encourage a fight to the end.
