Landing in Nigrat

(A/N: Map of the Front, June 22nd 1647 (1948), 2 days before Operation Augustus)

Seas Near southern Nigrat, Italian War Fleet, June 6th 1948

The RN Romulus, surronded by 28 carriers, 22 Battleships, 50 Cruisers, 550 Destroyers, Protected 3000 Transports, Supply Ships, Hospital Ships, Repair Ships and more. It was the largest fleet Italy had in the area.

On the 1000 Transports were 250 000 Marines, the most Elite of the Italian Marines, Veterans of hundreds of battles. Above them was 1900 GJ-2s, Armed with bombs, flying off towards the shores of Nigrat.

After spending 1646 mostly in a lull, the Allies prepared for the next phase of their war. Landing in Nigrat in the south, where upon they would create the State of Nigrat. The goal was to open a new front for the Enemy to focus on before the launched opearation Tempest.

Which was to continue carving land for the Kingdom of Catolin. Mu wanted the enemy to be weaker to have a higher chance of turning the tide. Something the Italians were more than happy to help.

But landing in the south was going to be a challenge, the enemy knew they would try this, they had along near the south, 560 000 Soldiers, well trained and battle harden. They may have lost many battles, but they were now fighting for their homeland.

The beaches had little cover, heavy defenses like in Branchel, but heavier, this was 7 years worth of building, it would prove the hardest challenge in the history of the Marine's.

After the bombs would fall, alongside CM-1 Missiles from Catolin, The Battleships and Cruisers would fire their main guns to help soften the shores during and before the landings. The transports were already preparing to send the Marines ashore.

In one such transport was the 50th Battolion, All 1000 Marines were some of the best. Their commanding Officer, Constantine Scipio, Self named for the last name as he was born a bastard.

As soon as they finished that, they got into the Landing Crafts, and began going towards the beaches. As soon as they began to move ahead, they came under a torrent of Machine Gun Fire and Cannons firing at them.

The Landing crafts hit the waters and the came under intense fire, bullets flew above everyone, dead and dying men everywhere, But the Marines continued to land, to fight.

The enemy defenses were not only strong, they were held by the last true Veterans of the Nigratians. As the Marines hit the beaches, they got to witness the Salvos from the Battleships and other ships hitting the enemy lines.

It was a sight which could be best said as Hell on Earth for many of the Marines. 

Yet, without fear taking over, many of them continued to press forward, as the Tanks hit the shores, helping push deeper, The fortune of war was changing.

There was 7 beaches to take. Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero, Galba and Otho Beaches, named after the first 7 emperors of the Roman Empire. Each of them were seperated by the enemy in a torrent of defenses.
