35. Goodbye...?

Yuvraj's pov

Roop seems too upset about earlier. I continued driving as she kept staring outside. Out of nowhere, a little child came in front of the car, and i applied breaks immediately.

Roop looked at me in confusion, and then her gaze fell on the kid, and her eyes widened. The kid who fell on the ground out of fear started crying.

We walked out of the car as we helped the kid on his feet and looked around for his parents.

Suddenly, i felt i stinging pain on the back of my head.
"RAAJJJJJ!" I heard Roop scream in horror.

Roop's pov

I woke up as the light blinded me. My head was spinning. Opening my eyes, i found myself in an oddly familiar surroundings.

I looked around to find Raj tied to a chair, still unconscious. I was about to get up when i realized i was also tied to a chair. The ropes around my wrist broke my bangles, and the broken pieces peirced through my skin.

"You are awake." I heard the familiar voice i never wanted to. Gulping nervously, i looked up and found Mr. Goenka standing in front of me.

"Aww, my poor daughter. Are you okay? But then...  what can a wooden stick do to you... you have had worse. Didn't you?" He said with his sick smile, and my eyes moved to Raj.

He's still unconscious.
Please be okay.

"Arrey damad ji pehli baar ghar aaye hai, thodi khatirdari krni to banti hai na." He said, and my eyes widened in horror.

"No. He didn't do anything. It was me. You won't touch him." I declared, trying to hide the panic in my voice.

"Lovesick, naive and stupid.... just like your mother." He said, patting my cheek harshly.

"She wasn't stupid or naive!!" I said in frustration.

"She was.... you know why? Because she thought I'd kill you. I'd kill my way to treasure." He said, and i stared at him blankly.

"Because she thought i loved her." He added.

"Because she thought marrying me against her father's will was the way to her happiness." He said laughing.

"Why? Why did you do this to her?" I said, holding back my tears.

"That lady.... what was her name again?" He said, frowning.

He doesn't even remember her name.

"Whatever it was, she was the most stupid and useless person. Though she was good at bed but you ruined that too!" He said, and i fisted my hands in anger.

"STOP IT!! DON'T YOU DARE SPEAK ANOTHER WORD ABOUT HER." I warned, trying to free myself from the chair and wanting to throw a punch at his face.

His hand wrapped around my throat in an instant as he choked me.

"You dare to yell at me!!" He said, still choking me, and soon he was ripped away from my body, and i coughed, trying to breathe.

"How dare you hurt my wife!!" Raj said as he landed a punch on his face. Hearing this, Mr. Goenka's bodyguard entered inside.

"Pull him away!" Mr. Goenka said, breathing heavily as his bodyguards struggle to pull Raj away from him.

"Leave him, Raj. Please. They'll hurt you." I said, noticing their struggle and one of his bodyguards pulling out a gun.

He looked at me, his eyes red in anger when Mr. Goenka's bodyguard ripped him away from Mr. Goenka is taking advantage of his distraction.

After a little more struggle, i finally managed to free myself from the chair.

I punched the person holding the gun and snatched it from him, pointing it at Mr. Goenka started hitting him.

My heart clenched. I had to do something.

"Ask your men to back off!!" I declared and realized that his bodyguards just stood in front of him, making a human shield around the worthless piece of shit as all of his bodyguards except the one i snatched the gun from pointed the gun towards Raj.

"My baby daughter. You are foolish." He said, laughing as Raj just lay there panting.

"Fine then. Let him go, or I'll shoot myself." I said, pointing the gun at myself.

"Are you crazy roop!!" Raj said, panicking, trying to get up, but he was too hurt.

"Go on." Mr. Goenka said, shrugging his shoulders.

"But if you did.... just think what I'll do to your precious husband." He said, grabbing a gun and pointing it at Raj.

"You have let me live for all those years. You just told me you won't kill me. I don't think you are stupid enough to watch me die now!" I declared firmly, and Raj kept staring at me, pleading with his eyes.

"What do you want?" He asked, staring at me with anger filled eyes.

"Let him go." I said.

"I am not leaving you, Roop. Don't even think about it." Raj declared.

"Please." I said pleadingly.

"Never." He replied curtly. 
"Take the chance and free yourself. Choose yourself, Roop." He said, looking at me hopefully.

"I can't. I'll always choose you. Even if the choice comes down to you and me." I said, not meeting his eyes.

I never get to say goodbye to him before. So i didn't realize it was this painful.

"So sweet. I almost died of cringe! And you really think I'll let him go?" Mr. Goenka said, chuckling darkly.

"What do you want then?" I asked, staring at him blankly.

"The day you ran away was the day i was actually going to set you free, but you were stupid to run away. I was also getting you married to a rich man! Tsk tsk... but you had to ruin it!!" Mr. Goenka said, walking towards me.

"What do you want?" I asked again, still not looking at Raj.

"I waited 25 years for that day, and you ran away!! I didn't raise you for 25 fucking years only to run away!" He spatted and i flinched.

"Mind your tone when you speak to her, and you didn't raise her at all!" Raj said, finally getting up after a lot of struggle. I was about to walk towards him when Mr. Goenka held my hand.

"Not yet." He said smirking.

"You need to do something before that." He said, and i stared at him in confusion.

"You are not doing anything he is asking you too!" Raj said, looking at me, and i averted my eyes from him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"You need to sign a few papers before!" He said.

"You want me to transfer all the shares and property to you... Don't you?" I said chuckling.

"Puri zindagi mujhse or mumma se nafrat krne ke baad aise mere samne bheek mangne mai sharam bhi nahi aa rahi hogi na aapko?" I added and he clenched his fist in anger.

"None of it belongs to you! It was mine. It was always mine!!" He said in anger.

"I want a first aid box, my husband and a room. You really shouldn't have hurt him!! Also, you need to answer a few questions first." I said firmly.

"I am doing no such thing." He said breathing heavily.

"Fine then. I am not signing any papers." I said shrugging my shoulders when he pointed his gun towards me for a moment and i noticed Raj flinching from the corner of my eyes.

"I will empty this gun in your head soon!" He said, and i just smiled, knowing i pressed the right nerve.
