Jack - April 13, 2013

I sat at the counter in the back shocked, my mouth hanging open in shock. "Sir... that's my order?" I snapped back to attention, in the back counter of a Starbucks with my headset on, but I hadn't listened to this guys order at all. "I'm sorry sir, you'll have to repeat that, let me get one of my co workers to take care of you". I quickly turned to Jessica and showed her the text I just recieved. She nodded her head and took over my spot as i walked over to the bathroom. I opened my phone and read over the text one more time, "Hi Jack Johnson. This is Detective Pike. I'm calling to inform you that your father, James Johnson has just passed away.". I wasn't ever close with him, me and my twin sister were both fostered since 12. It was a shock that he died, but I kept reading. "I understand you weren't close, but he had a package addressed to you and your sister. We understand that you live several states away, so we'll mail it to you soon. His note also asks that your sister is present when you open the package". I closed my phone and took the rest of the day off.

April 20th, 2013
Me and My sister were both at the dining room table, across from each other with the package in between us. The note read "Dear Jack, and your sister. I'm sorry we were never close, a necessary sacrifice, but one i still regret. With my death, someone will need to safeguard the Source, and i entrust this to you. Best Wishes, James."  inside the package was a simple solid black cube. As soon as I picked it up the bottom slides to the side, when I click it back in place, another side opens, and within 2 minutes it's turned into a complicated labyrinth that me and my sister are both struggling to solve, until one final click that leaves two sides out. One has a circle indent in it, and the other a small triangle. We look at each other, each knowing exactly what goes in there. I slide off my bracelet and place it in the indent, and my sister slides off her necklace. the both click into place. we look at each other and nod, as we slide the two panels back, the world turns blue, our senses of direction gets inverted, everything turns around, and we drop on the ground of an alleyway, in a massive city that wraps all the way around a gigantic ring that looks like a crescent moon. Cars fly by, motorcycles on the ground leave streaks behind them as the dashboard shows a holographic map, and most of all the road is transparent with wires running all the way through the city, and a Massive ball of light in the center of all the wires. I already know what it is though, it's the Source.
