a heartbreaking discovery

A couple days after maddies bombshell secret the squad had found the home of Molly Branson and the white rose garden. Under the garden were the skeletal remains of a 7 year old child and comparison to Madelyns dna proved it was her sister.

Olivia was heartbroken by the news,although she always was over the death of a child, but this one hit a little different since dna proved that some of Madelyns and kaylyns dna matched her own. This seemed to cement the idea that anyone with Hollister dna seemed to always have a complicated or deadly history.

" do we have any other dna on the body that doesn't have a connection to Molly or Madelyn?" Olivia asked.

"Yeah we found a blond hair on the blanket that kaylyn was wrapped in but both girls and thier mother have different shades of brown and the hair was shorter so it could be the father." Amanda said.

"Is it being run through codis?" Olivia asked with a sigh.

"Yeah but no hits yet" fin replied.

"Ok fin and kat why don't you go talk to neighbors and see if anyone knew the family." She ordered before heading to her office.

Amanda followed Olivia in to the office and closed the door "so have you made a decision on Madelyn?" She asked olivia.

"Yeah I did. I'm taking her in. I've already talked to Trevor and il getting an official adoption process started." Olivia replied.

"You sure it's a good idea?" Amanda asked concerned.

"I can't let her get thrown around in the system and her and noah seem to be getting along." Olivia said "and technically speaking we are family." Olivia sighed.

Amanda nodded "I get it its just a second kid is alot to take on especially with a job like ours trust me I know." Amanda said speaking of her own 2 daughters Jessie and Billie.

"I know but I think I can handle it" Olivia smiled lightly.

As the day ended and the trail on madelyns father had reached a dead end Olivia decided to head home.

She walked through her apartment door and for the first time she wasn't ran in to by her son which she thought was strange until she walked to the livingroom and seen noah and Madelyn laughing and playing with Noah's stuffed toys.

Olivia smiled went in to the kitchen to Lucy and said "so how did things go today?"

"Good. Me and Madelyn took a walk in the park and she played a bit and we picked up noah from school and they pretty much kept each other occupied since then." Lucy smiled.

"Thank you for staying a bit later and if you could come by a little early tomorrow cause I'd like to get Madelyn registered at Noah's school as soon as possible. I want to get her on a normal scedual" Olivia said.

"Yeah no problem" Lucy replied grabbing her bag "see you tomorrow " Lucy said before walking out of the apartment.

Olivia started on some pasta for dinner while keeping an eye over the kids playing in the livingroom. She couldn't help but smile and love the sound of her son and Madelyn laughing.

After a bit she finished cooking and set out the kids 2 bowls and said "come on kiddos time for dinner."

Noah and Madelyn ran to the table dropping their toys where they were and olivia sigh "ok you two go wash up first and after dinner I want this toys back in the toybox ok?"

Madelyn seemed scared and ran to the toys and began cleaning up right away as noah went to the bathroom to wash.

Olivia walked over to Madelyn "hunny I said you could do that after dinner."

"I...I'm sorry i..I just don't want to be a bad girl I'm being good." She said in a frightened tone.

"Sweetheart you are a good girl" she said kneeling down to her level.

"So you won't punish me?" She asked still nervous.

"My love I will never hurt you like your daddy did I promise you that." She said brushing Madelyn hair from her face.

Madelyn nodded but finished cleaning up and went to wash her hands and then sat at the table as the 3 of them ate together.

Olivia tucked her son in first and noah looked at her "mommy is Madelyn my sister?"

Olivia smiled "she's going to be like a sister yes."

"So she will stay forever?" He asked excitedly.

"Yes my love she's staying with us and thank you for being so nice to her noah." Olivia said kissing his head.

"I love my new sister" he said "goodnight mommy" he said sleepily.

"Goodnight noah." She smiled and closed his door after turning on his night light.

Olivia then went and tucked in Madelyn who was already asleep and olivia kissed her head gently "Goodnight maddie" Olivia whispered and stroked her hair before leaving the room and going to bed herself.
