trying to fix a family

Olivia went in to Noah's room first and sat on his bed as he curled up looking red with anger.

"Noah, what you said was uncalled for. Madelyn may not be your sister in the traditional sense but she had been with us for a long time now and you have always loved her like a sister. Why would you say that to her? Why would you destroy her things?" Olivia asked.

"Because she's a show off brat." He said in an angry tone.

"What...what do you mean young man?" Olivia asked slightly confused.

"She got the lead in the dance recital all because while I was doing my audition she was doing the same thing back stage and Mr. Grayson chose her even though she didn't try out!" He glared.

"Noah. I'm sorry but that doesn't give you the right to destroy her toys or tell her she's not your sister. She looks up to you. Even though you guys are the same age she looks up to you and maybe she was trying to learn what you were doing. That should make you happy." Olivia said.

He huffed and looked away "I wish you never brought her home." He whispered angerly and lay in his bed covering himself with his blanket.

Olivia sighed "I hope soon you will quit being this way and learn to love your sister again." Olivia stood and left the room slowly feeling more defeated and frustrated.

She walked in to Madelyns room and seen Madelyn in the corner curled up crying. Olivia knelt down in front of Madelyn. "Maddie I know Noah made you angry and he said some mean things but you can't hit people especially your brother ok?"

She nodded and looked down "I'm sorry mama...i...I don't know what made Noah so mad to hurt my dolly." She said.

"Hunny what happened at dance class today?" She asked.

"Everyone was trying out for the dance recital but I was too scared...I didn't think I'd be any good at it so I was just trying to practice Noah's moves so I could try to help later when Noah practiced at home but mr.grayson saw me and he said I'd be good for the part. I told him I didn't want to make Noah mad but he said he had another part for Noah." She said as she felt Olivia wipe her tears away.

Olivia nodded with a slight sigh and said "we will talk to Noah together later but for now you both have to eat so come on."

She went and coaxed Noah out but he refused to even look at Madelyn and sat far away from her on the couch. Madelyn picked at her food and whispered "i...I'm sorry Noah."

Noah rolled his eyes and ignored her.

"Noah Madelyn said she was sorry do you have something to say to her?" Olivia coaxed.

"No and I don't forgive her" he huffed as he took another bite and olivia sighed "Noah now stop this. Now."

"No cause she always has to be the show off. Why couldn't she just stand aside like the other kids?" He glared.

Olivia took Noah's plate and said "that's it go to your room and when you feel like acting like a big boy and not a baby then you can come back out and finish your food."

He glared and stomped off to his bedroom and didn't come out the rest of the night and didn't acknowledge Olivia when she came in to tuck him in.

Olivia sighed and hope this was something that would blow over soon.
