I stare at Doug. I know I already knew but it's like why does he keep doing the same thing over and over. I'm to the point where I think it's time for me and Doug's relationship to end. I clear my throat, "Millie. I tried respecting you for the simple fact of you telling me how you and my husband affair started. I can no longer sit here and pretend things are okay when it's not". Millie nods her head with a slight tear coming down.
Doug isn't even making eye contact with me. I say as my voice gets shaky, "I want to know why did you think it'll be okay to sleep with the Presidents husband?". Millie gulps and clears her throat, "I.. I don't know Kamala". I laugh as I run my fingers through my hair. "You do know why you did it. You did it because you're a conniving little bitch. Instead of you getting your own goddamn man you go for mine?. You're pathetic". I sit back in my chair staring at both of them. "And as for you Doug, I have pushed this one person away for too long because of everything that's been going on. She's been the only one helping me get through all this bullshit with you a Millie".
Doug slightly gulps and stares back into my eyes. I clear my throat, "Millie go home and as stated don't come back to the White House ever again". Millie clears her throat, "Kamala I-". I glare at her, "If you ever step a foot inside the White House you will be kicked out, understand?". Millie nods and makes her way out and closes the door behind her. I clear my throat and sigh, "Doug I want a divorce". His eyes widen, his leg starts shaking uncontrollably he starts sweating. He clears his throat, "are.. are you sure?". I shift in my chair. "Yes I'm sure. I can't deal with this anymore Doug. You're not even trying to stop cheating you just keep doing it". I say with a sharp tone.
He places his hand on his chest. And he clears his throat. "Okay Kamala..where do we stand after this divorce". I place my hand on my chin. After what he's done. He's definitely gonna have to move to another office not in the White House of course. "We can be friends, but I don't want you to remain in the White House". I say proudly trying not to cry. He clears his throat, "and as far as the house?". I stare deeply into his eyes. "keep the house. It's all yours". He stares at me with a hint of regret. He says, "Are you sure??". I chuckle a little, "Yes keep the house Doug, if you don't want it sell it". He smiles but it fades, "Okay, are you staying at the house tonight".
I stare into space not answering his question. Then I stare back at him, "I'm not sure. But I'll let you know". He nods and makes his way out my office.
__________________________________I grab my things and I see Tiffany walking into my office, I smile at her and she smiles back. I say tilting my head, "How may I help you?". She smiles at me and says, "I finished everything for the week and like I said there was a interview but I cannot get it into your schedule. So we'll have to reschedule it but everything else is done". I smile and place my hand on her hand. "Thank you Mrs. Reid I appreciate that". She's smirks at me, "You're welcome, and before I go. How did the conversation with Doug go? If you don't mind me asking." She says with concern and her eye brow is sticking up.
I sigh, "I told him I wanted a divorce and that he could keep the house... And I won't be staying there with him tonight". I stare at Tiffany and she nods with a smirk slowly showing on her lips. I tilt my head and place my fingers on my chin. She says, "Okay.. again I'm sorry all this even happened to you. If you need a place to stay tonight you can always come over". She says with a smile. I grin at her, "Okay. Well If I would want to stay the night I'll call you okay?". She nods and she leaves my office.
I may have lost my husband, but that doesn't stop me from having fun.
I finally arrive at me and Doug's house. I unlock the door walking in slowly, my heels are clacking against the floor and it's echoing by the silence. I walk upstairs and head towards our bedroom. I walk into my closet grabbing a spend a night bag, I throw a few pairs of matching work outfits, some comfortable clothes to sleep in. A few bras and panties. I walk over to the bathroom and start grabbing my oral hygiene and shower hygiene products. I throw them into my bag and I grab my bonnet as well as my round brush.
