Rick
Rick's wolf wanted to kill those kids. It was bullies like them who stopped Rick from being himself in his youth, and now they were messing with Sam.
Rick's phone pinged on his work desk. He looked at his phone to see a text from Jordan.
See me in my office. Urgent.
He knew not to ignore Jordan when he said something was Urgent. Not because he was the Alpha of their Pack but because he rarely texted, and if he did, it was usually for something very important.
He wondered if something was wrong with Zia or his niece... Rick dashed out of his office and rushed to Jordan.
When he entered his office, he saw Carl and Juno leaving Jordan's office. His first instinct was to strangle Carl, but he promised Sam two days ago he would not hurt them. He tramped his anger and quietly went inside Jordan's office.
Jordan looked at him with a pointed stare. "Please sit," he said in a serious tone.
"Why did you remove Carl and Juno from the team so close to the tournament?"
"I provided a detailed report to the sports authority. Did you read it?"
Jordan frowned, looking almost guilty. "No. I didn't even know you removed them until they came to me. Isaac didn't say anything. What happened?"
"They drugged Sam Adler and tried to harm him two nights ago."
Jordan looked shocked. "Do you have any evidence against them?"
"Do you want me to get evidence? I didn't think about it since I believed Sam."
"Why didn't Sam come to me?" Jordan asked.
"For this exact reason, our father didn't believe him, and he had a feeling you wouldn't either. And going by your reaction, I am glad he didn't come to you."
"Stop being an ass. I am trying to be neutral here. I can't show the same favoritism as you, Rick."
"Why do I feel you are trying to say something?" Rick asked, keeping his tone neutral.
"Isaac saw Sam come out of the locker room a few days ago. He saw a mark on his shoulder, which he was trying to hide. And then you chase the boy to his home in the city. It doesn't take a genius to guess what is happening here."
"Are you upset that your brother is gay?" Rick gritted.
"I know you are gay. Zia told me a long time ago. That's not what I am upset about."
"That bitch."
"Stop cursing my wife and think about your own actions. Do you know the consequences of being romantically involved with a player?"
"I didn't have sex with him."
"You think the coucil will care if you have been in his pants. One complaint would be enough to get you off the team."
Rick sucked in a breath. "Who is going to tell them? You?"
"If I was a better person, I would have."
"But you are not," Rick prompted.
