Annabeth dug through the plane wreckage, feeling desperate. Her hands were bloody and cuts criss-crossed over her skin but she didn't care, all she wanted was to find him. "No," Annabeth murmured, after what felt like hours of searching.

Percy Jackson had defeated Kronos, taken down Gaea, survived Tartarus and defeated countless monsters yet now he was finally gone. Annabeth had a funny feeling that Zeus had shot their plane out of the sky, it was like him to do that. Suddenly, Annabeth's hands hit flesh, and she pulled a body away from the debris. Blank, sea green eyes stared up at the sky.

When Annabeth leaned down and put her ear to his chest, there was no heartbeat. Just a ringing silence that echoed around the scene.

Percy Jackson was dead.

Tears welled up in her eyes. One by one, they rolled down her cheek until there was a steady stream. The tears dropped to the ground like raindrops yet Annabeth didn't notice. She just continued to stare in shock at her boyfriend's body.

After a while, she pulled herself together and stood up. "ZEUS!" She yelled up to the sky. Some people nearby who were searching looked at her like she had gone insane. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE, YOU LAZY FOOL?!! AFTER ALL HE'S DONE FOR YOUR LAZY BUTT, THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY HIM??!! YOU BI-" she was cut short by a bolt of lightning. It arced towards her, and she dodged, only escaping by a fingertip.

The lightning bolt hit Percy's body square in the chest and his eyes opened. His chest moved up in down and he attempted to move his right arm but winced in pain.

"Percy." Annabeth whispered, and his head snapped towards her.

"Annabeth." He said, and she launched herself at him.

"I thought you were dead!" She sobbed, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him full on the lips. It didn't matter that everyone was staring, all that mattered to her was that she had her Percy back.
