Luke didn't return to the kingdom for fourteen years. In those fourteen years, he managed to murder many people. But the thing was, he acted without thinking - literally. His mind would go blank and he would helplessly watch himself kill those innocent people.

You're doing good. A voice would whisper in his head when he woke up in the forest holding a knife dripping with crimson blood. Soon, you shall be known and feared.

Luke didn't want to be known or feared. He didn't mind being known - he was a runaway prince after all, it was just that he didn't want to be known as a murderer.

He'd had enough. He wanted to stop the voice that took over his brain; he wanted to fight it. But the thing was, he couldn't. Luke had tried to kill himself so many times; stabbing his heart, drowning, jumping off a cliff, even smashing his head against a tree. Nothing worked. He'd reawaken to blood coating his hands.

The day he went too far was the day he regretted most. He went near the kingdom - a place he'd been avoiding for years. Somehow, he couldn't bring himself to be close to his family when he could kill them.

But as he neared the outskirts of the town, he felt his mind being taken over. Luke watched himself walk down the streets of the town - he watched himself move towards the palace where there seemed to be some sort of celebration. When he neared, he saw why.

It was a wedding. Between Luke's sister Annabeth and a boy called Percy Jackson. The citizens seemed happy. They were laughing and joking among themselves and everyone cheered as the newlywed couple walked out of the palace gates and into the streets.

Luke drew the dagger. He approached the front of the crowd. "Hey!" A voice shouted. It was a guard who was staring straight at Luke. "Hey, you! No weapons in the streets!"

"I can do what I want." Luke spat, except his voice wasn't his. Then he lunged at the guard and stabbed him straight in the chest. He fell dead on the floor.

The crowd rioted. Luke slashed at the people nearest him and everyone parted around him. He stabbed as many people as he could and cleared the way towards his sister.

Annabeth's husband, Percy, was gripping a bronze sword. "Dude, stop hurting people!" He cried, a look of confusion and alarm taking up his face.

"I can't." Luke tried to say, but all that came out was, "I'm sorry, Annabeth."

"Luke?" Annabeth gasped. She glared at him. "You traitor! You nearly killed me fourteen years ago!"

Luke wanted to reach out - to touch her - to hold her - to know that she was there - but he couldn't. No, he was being held back.

"I'm sorry," Luke repeated. He lunged at Percy. They fought for a while, each one not able to overcome the other. Luke had to admit that Percy had skill, but Luke was better. In one swift move, he unarmed Percy and went to stab him.

His knife was being moved by his possessor. But then suddenly, Luke was free. The block left his mind and Luke had just enough time to stop his knife and swing it around to stab himself instead of Percy before the evil took over his mind once more.

There was a collective gasp from the crowd around them as everyone tried to realise what was happening. Luke's blood dribbled over the cobblestones in the road. Annabeth rushed up to him and shook him.

"Luke?" She asked. "Luke? Luke!"

"Annabeth..." Luke croaked. "I'll be alright." He smiled up at her. "The evil is gone. I'll wake up." He coughed. "I'll wake up."

But Luke wasn't going to wake up. He could only kill himself under the possession, so he took the opportunity.

Indeed, Luke's tale is done. He died to stop himself from killing all those innocent people. If he hadn't, then many more people would have been murdered.

Annabeth never forgot her older brother. She was a smart girl, and realised that Luke had been under the possession of the evil sorcerer, Kronos. Over time, she and Percy had kids. One boy was named Luke after his uncle.

The family lived in the palace happily ever after.

The end.
