As Annabeth scanned the note, her eyes welled up with tears. The light from the hallway that shone into the dark bedroom washed her face with light as she turned back to the door and marched down the corridor to her office. There, she took the letter and a pencil and began to figure out Percy's message.

It turned out that all she had to do was take the first letter from each sentence and put them together. Satisfied with her work, Annabeth put them together.

Would you rather love someone else

"What?" Annabeth muttered, then reread the letter for probably the hundredth time. Tears leaked down her face as she read Percy's writing about how he always loved her and that she never loved him back, which was why she left.

Annabeth felt emotionless. She stared down at the piece of paper which was dotted with her tears and cried silently to herself. It wasn't her fault, was it? She couldn't've hurt him, could she?

But you did. A voice in her mind whispered. Annabeth's body stiffened. You became so caught up in your work that you shut him out. You're selfish, evil, vile and oblivious. You never noticed Percy's concern or your selfishness. Why are you an Athena child? Aren't they meant to be smart? Well, you're not smart because you -

Annabeth sprinted out of the room and vomited into the toilet. She felt sick. This was all her fault. Percy was probably heartbroken and all Annabeth was doing was being a selfish person. She had blocked him out far too long.

Once she had finished puking her guts out, Annabeth went into her room and tugged her coat on. She headed out into the night and ran down the street.

She suddenly stopped. Where would Percy be? He'd just walked out, so where could he have gone? He could be anywhere, Annabeth realised. She just hoped that he wasn't in the mortal world.

Annabeth marched down the street to Jason and Piper's place. They lived close to them, and if Percy wasn't there, then Annabeth could just talk to Piper and get her advice.

She knocked on the door to their apartment, and when it opened, it was Jason.

"Annabeth?" He asked in surprise.

"Is Percy here?" Annabeth asked.

Jason glanced behind him into the living room. "Uh, yeah." He said.

"I need to talk to him." Annabeth said, bouncing on the balls of her feet in anticipation. "It's urgent."

"Alright." Jason let her in.

When Annabeth entered the room, Piper and Percy immediately quietened down from where they had been talking. Piper stood up. "I'll give you two some privacy." She said, feeling the tension in the room. She grabbed Jason by the arm and dragged him down the hall to what Annabeth guessed was their room, then slammed the door shut.

Annabeth flinched and turned back to Percy who had stood up. "Annabeth." he said, his voice lacking emotion.

"Percy." Annabeth replied, her voice equally lacking emotion.

"Are you here to answer my question?" Percy asked.

Annabeth looked him in the eye. "I've come to apologise." She sighed. "I haven't really been talking to you or acknowledging you. I'm sorry, it's just that I've been so busy lately. I've decided to cut back on my work from now on. I know I'll never make it up to you, and I hope that you can accept my apology. I wish that we had more time to ourselves, and I know that we're not together anymore, but -"

"Wise Girl," Percy whispered softly, taking a step closer to Annabeth so that the were standing very close together. "I never left." He cracked a grin. "Apology accepted."

And then his lips were on hers. Annabeth melted into the kiss. She felt relieved. Her Seaweed Brain still loved her, and she was his, and he was hers. Nothing more.

So... yeah.

Unfortunately (*sighs deeply*) you guys (and my readers on Instagram) pressured me into writing a part two. I REALLY wanted to leave it as it was but I figured that there may as well be a happy ending. You can just read the first half and not this part if you don't like happily ever afters. Or Percabeth for that matter.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this two part one-shot. Thanks for reading!
