What happens when Percy and Annabeth are given a break and decide to go on a cruise?
"Annabeth! Annabeth! Do you see the dolphins?" Percy cried, pointing out into the ocean where a pod of dolphins were swimming.
"Yes, Percy, I can see them." Annabeth rolled her eyes at her boyfriend who was bouncing up and down on the rail.
"Look! They're coming over!"
Annabeth wondered how her nineteen-year-old boyfriend could be such a five-year-old at times. Though she did still love him - even if he was now talking to the dolphins animatedly about the ocean and the life that lived there.
"They say hi!" He called to Annabeth. "I told them that you didn't want to see them. They're sad now."
"I didn't say that!"
Percy giggled and leant back over the railing to talk to the dolphins again.
---
"How much more can you eat?" Annabeth sighed. Percy shoved another spoonful of soup into his mouth and shrugged.
"Geez, Annabeth! This is only my third bowl!"
Annabeth pushed a piece of bread into her bowl and took a bite as she watched Percy inhale his, then come back up for air a moment later. He burped, and Annabeth sighed.
"Manners, Perce."
"This is really good," Percy said to the waiter as she swung by to grab their bowls.
"Would you like some more?" The waiter said, her blindingly white teeth showing through her smile.
"Percy, I think that's enough -"
"One more!"
Annabeth face-palmed.
---
"They're showing Titanic in the cinema at seven," Annabeth said.
Percy made a face and slumped back on his bed.
"Or there's Finding Nemo at four..."
Percy's face lit up. "Can we go? Please, Annie!"
He got down on his knees at her feet and begged, giving her a puppy dog eyed look.
"Oh alright," Annabeth said. "But it doesn't start for another three hours so what do you want to do?"
Percy gave her an evil grin and grabbed one of the pillows off the bed and lunged at her.
"Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth gasped, grabbing the one on the chair in the corner of the room and diving at him. She whacked him over the head but he rolled away so she chucked it at him instead.
They fought for a bit before curling up on the bed together, Percy's head in Annabeth's lap.
"This is a cruise, Percy." Annabeth sighed, playing with his hair. "It's a holiday. We have to go do something and relax."
"We're relaxing right now, aren't we?" Percy said.
"That's not what I meant."
Percy sat up and climbed underneath the bed covers.
"Well if you're going to sleep then I might as well go do something -" Annabeth went to get up but Percy wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled his face into her neck, kissing it lightly.
"Please don't go." He mumbled.
"Percy -"
"Stay. Please. You're nice and warm."
Annabeth sighed and climbed into the bed beside Percy.
"I love you," Percy said, holding her body to his chest.
"I love you too," Annabeth replied.
---
SPLASH!
"Percy! You got my book all wet!"
"Sorry 'beth," Percy smirked and dived underwater again.
With a sigh, Annabeth snapped her book shut and stood up, slipping off her beach dress so she was in her bikini before jumping into the pool with a splash.
"You came in!" Percy cried happily, racing over to her.
Annabeth splashed him with water.
"Hey!" Percy said, and with a flick of his hand splashed her back.
Annabeth sent him and even bigger one, and Percy responded by dumping an entire wave on her head.
She went spiralling underwater, the force of the wave knocking her to the bottom. As Annabeth swam back up, Percy laughed, watching the other passengers who were walking along the deck enjoying the sunshine.
But then something grabbed his legs and pulled him back under.
Percy created an air bubble around Annabeth's mouth and nose, glaring at her. She punched his arm with a smile.
Then he pulled her in for a kiss and all was forgiven.
