"Am I doing it right?" Percy questioned, looking to Annabeth for approval. He had his left hand in hers and his right arm on her waist.
Annabeth laughed. "It's left foot forwards first, Seaweed Brain."
"Oh." Percy glanced down at their feet. "How come you're going back?"
"Because that's the dance."
Annabeth gripped Percy's shoulder with her left hand and took a step back on her left foot. Percy took a step back on his right.
"Wrong foot." Annabeth smiled. "Now go back on your left."
"I'm so bad at this." Percy chuckled. He concentrated on moving his feet and the music in the background.
"You're doing good." Annabeth smiled.
Percy smiled back. He went forwards on his left, the side-stepped and slid his other foot over. They managed to get five perfect steps before Percy stepped on Annabeth's shoe.
"Sorry, Wise Girl." Percy apologised as his girlfriend rubbed her foot.
"You're going to pay for that later." Annabeth growled.
"I said I was sorry!" They got back into position again.
Percy and Annabeth waltzed across the apartment. As the final bars of the song played, Percy dipped Annabeth down and kissed her. It wasn't a sloppy kiss, more like an I-love-you-so-much-I-would-die-without-you kiss.
"Good job, Seaweed Brain." Annabeth whispered when they broke apart.
"I love you, Wise Girl." Percy smiled. "But please don't make me do that again."
Annabeth laughed. "We'll see, Perce, we'll see.
