WEDNESDAY

Spinning in circles, she tried to catch every angle of herself. Obsessed with trying to look perfect. She could feel her heart thrumming against her rib cage. If she looked close enough, she could even see her chest rise and fall with her heart beat.

She did have a cup of coffee this morning but that was hours ago, it wouldn't be affecting her like this. The only explanation was that she was terribly nervous.

Especially thinking about the possibility of someone seeing them.

To avoid that, they agreed to meet at the restaurant. Cassie would show up first, with a smaller fan base—and a less crazy one—came a lesser chance of her getting spotted and creating a scene outside. Lando would come soon after, trying his best to keep a low profile.

That agreement had Cassie waiting alone in the nice restaurant for ten minutes now. She kept checking her phone every three seconds. For a text, the time, the weather.

She started to wonder if she messed up, if she'd opened the door for player, Lando Norris, to stand her up and leave her in her best dress, alone.

But just as her thoughts were running away from her, she felt a hand on her shoulder. At first, her instincts kicked in and she whipped around to hit whoever the stranger was, but the sight of her date thankfully halted her movements.

A toothy smile was how he greeted her, showing off his adorable tooth gap. "If I'm honest, I nearly just kicked you in the balls." Cassie confessed, which conjured a frighten look on Lando's face as he sat down across from her.

"Right, yeah. Savannah had to tell me off multiple times for surprising her like that." He chuckles. Cassie gave off a half attempted laugh. "You okay?" Lando raised a brow.

Cassie nodded. "Yeah, this is just weird." She lied, gesturing between the two of them. "You having second thoughts?" He asked, a smile on his face that indicates his question was not meant to be taken seriously.

Cassie only shrugged; Lando's expression fell into a slight frown.

"Hey guys," the waiter greeted. "I'm Lucas, I'll be your waiter today." Hearing his name, Lando glanced at Cassie and chuckled. "What can I get started for you two?" Lucas asked.

With a slight head tilt, Lando asked, "Could we get a bottle of your finest wine?"

Lucas nodded. "Yup, absolutely. The whole bottle will be £250, is that alright?" Lando nodded. "And any appetizers?"

Lando looked to Cassie, who shook her head. "We're good." Lucas nodded. "I'll have that bottle out in just a second." He said and departed from the table.

"Lando," Cassie sighed.

"Cass," he responded.

"You didn't need to do that." She shook her head. Lando shrugged. "I didn't do it for you." He replied, and quickly followed it up by asking, "does that make it any better?"

"Sure." Cassie chuckled.

Lando's lips split in a grin, and he gazed over her body. "You look amazing, by the way." He complimented softly.

Feeling a blush creep up on her cheeks, Cassie turned her face to her lap and smiled shyly. "Quite the charmer." She shook her head.

Lucas came back then, carrying a full bottle of wine. "Does this look good?" He asked Lando specifically. "Perfect."
