Cassie was more than a couple drinks in. Any ounce of intelligence in her had long gone and soon the alcohol would slowly chip away at her ability to walk around properly.

The black heels were still strapped to her feet so for now she was getting around just fine. It's when they came off that people should start to worry.

Lando stood across the club, watching Cassie take another drink from the bartender. He was still working on his first drink of the night and wondered how many she'd had, and how many more she planned on having.

"Mate, calm down you're not her boyfriend." Max quipped upon seeing his friend's intense gaze. "I'm still her-" he paused. Was he her friend now? He guessed she implied it that day on the beach, or maybe he took it the wrong way. He shook his head and took another sip of his drink.

He tried to focus on the story Max was trying to tell, but he was very distracted at the moment. She was leaning over the counter of the bar, and he could tell the bartender was flirting with her while he mixed up her fruity cocktail.

He couldn't see her face, but based on the way her body moved and the way her head would slowly tip to one side or the other, he could tell she was entertaining his advances.

The bartender placed a shot on the counter beside her and winked. It looked to be straight liquor.

A fire caught in Lando. It burned hot and seared right through to his brain, speaking to him and telling him to put a stop to this.

Without thinking twice, Lando crossed the room, watching her down the shot as he neared closer. The bartender cheered and put his hands out to her as if to say "look at you".

The cocktail was slid into her hands. She picked it up and raised it to the bartender, turn to walk away just as Lando neared her. He expected her to see him and stop, she didn't see him.

Cassie ran right into Lando's chest. He put a hand on her back so she didn't stumble backwards. They were chest to chest.

"Oh! Hey Lan!" She giggled, looking up at him through her eyelashes. The nickname stunned him momentarily, but he recovered quickly.

Her grip on her glass was loose, and Lando took that as an opportunity to snatch the drink from her hand.

She frowned, pouting. "Hey! That's my drink! I paid for that!" She reached for it, but Lando moved it from her reach. "How's a water sound?" He asked, to which she made a face.

"Like it's not what I ordered. Now give it back." She reached for it again, but he pulled it away. She crossed her arms, trying to intimidate him. When that didn't work, she gave him the classic puppy look. That also didn't work, and her next idea brought a malevolent smirk to her face.

It intrigued Lando, but before he could question it any further, her lips were on his. Her kiss was sweet and gentle. A hand of hers placed intimately on his cheek.
