THURSDAY NIGHT Cassie found it difficult to relax. The sun would be going down soon, and the thought of sleep was remote in her mind.

It could have been that she was still recovering from what Tristan had done, her mind still hadn't wrapped around that. Or it could have been those aggravating reporters today.

"Do you think being a female gives you an advantage?" She mocked the reporter alone in her hotel room.

Of course it didn't give her an advantage. Biologically, she was severely disadvantaged. The only thing she could have an advantage in was her lighter weight.

She sighed, sliding on her flip flops to go down to the beach so she could walk off the day.

Lando went out to dinner with Oscar, Savannah, and Carlos. He was only just now getting back to his hotel, right before sunset. Handing the keys over to the valet, he went inside the glass doors, texting back some girl Savannah was trying to set him up with. She was a friend of hers, a model if his memory served correctly.

Cassie hadn't been watching the space ahead of her as she walked through the lobby, texting back Elena and giving her a short debrief of todays events.

As she sent the text, her body collided with another. Her arm was tightly grasped, a precaution from the person to ensure she wouldn't fall.

The first thing that came to her mind wasn't an apology, rather the thought that this person smelled really good.

Looking up at the face of the person, she softly gasped. "Lando." She blinked, scraping through her brain to find her words that had run away from her.

Recognition flashed across Lando's face. "Cass. Hey." He blinked, then realizing he'd been holding onto her far longer than necessary, he let go and took a step back. She felt instantly colder.

"Sorry I wasn't paying attention at all." Lando apologized. No longer knowing what to do with his hands, he shoved them in his pockets.

She noticed what he was wearing, nice black dress pants and a white button up shirt, the top three buttons undone giving her a glimpse of his chest. Had he gone on a date?

"It's okay. I wasn't paying attention either, don't worry about it." She waved him off. "No really its my fault." He insisted, which made her laugh a little.

They fell into a silence, tense and awkward as neither of them wanted to end the conversation, but didn't know what to say.

Cassie scratched her arm. "Well, I was just heading to the beach. Have a good night." She smiled, and got three steps away from him before he called to her again.
