Chapter 21: Grief/Return home/loss/banishment

Everyone had gathered for Laenas funeral at Pyke; she was laid to rest like her mother Rhaenys wanted and what Corlys would have wanted if he wasn't currently in Pentos; Leana was buried under sea and salt; Cathrine and Alicent both made speeches honouring Laena.

Once that was done everyone began speaking to each other.

Visenya was with Aegon, It had taken Visenya a few days or a month to be able to open up and start holding aegons hand, Aegon was Patient with her.

"Aegon, can we go back inside?" Aegon gently held her hand "Sure, Visenya let me just inform Mother," Visenya simply nodded.

Alicent was standing Next to Rhaegar "Haw is Dyana?" Rhaegar faced Alicent "well she is nearly ready anyday to give birth so".

Alicent looked at Rhaegar "you look like your father you know" Rhaegar was taken aback as he was going to ask a question Aegon interrupted Visenya next to him hand in hand.

"Mother Visenya would like to get back inside" Alicent noticed Visenya was uncomfortable and overwhelmed "yes I think that's best" she replied to Aegon, Aegon and Visenya then headed back inside Pyke castle.

Viserys had weakened in stature since arriving on pyke for the funeral when he was informed that Rhaegar had learned the truth and Visenyas ordinal of surviving from sexual assault he was furious with Alicent all anyone could do but watch Alicent get blamed even so Rhaenyra tried to step up but ultimately failed.

"You feeling well Viserys" Viserys looked at Alicent as he walked past "I think I shall retire Aemma" there was a pause as everyone looked at Alicent, Alicents heart sank, even though she did not love Him she did care about him and his health.

Rhaenyra walked up to Rhaegar as the main people left the wake "hey you okay".

Rhaegar looked at Rhaenyra "just thinks are overwhelming, and finding out alicent is my mother.." Rhaenyra sank a little wishing she could have said something sooner Rhaegar noticed and grasped her hand.

Rhaenyra smiled and hugged Rhaegar "Shall we head in before we miss the drama" Rhaegar laughed "we shall" they both headed back inside.

In Pentos Corlys had already set of back to the seven kingdoms after learning the news of his daughters death in pyke.

Ragnar was making sure his ships were well prepared for the way home, Freya came towards Ragnar as peasants and dockworkers kneel before their new queen.

"I am Freya" she smiled and held her fathers hand as they looked at the iron fleet in the dock "send my love to mom" Ragnar smiled "of course i will my darling".

she looked at Ragnar "I'm gonna miss you father" he held both Freya's hands "so will I my dear girl" they hugged "oh before I forget I got gifts for Bjorn, Little ivar and Baby Margaret".

The first gift was Bjorns it was a essos made longsword known for its ability to take down any foe, Ivars gift was a leg contraption for when he was older made by the finest Pentosi Blacksmith and Baby Margaret's gift Was Freya's favourite Necklace that she discovered back in Meereen.

"I shall leave you to it" Freya kisses Ragnar's cheek and walks off guards behind her

"Ragnar!" Ragnar turns to see Alister "I see you're leaving" Ragnar smiles "I am my friend" he puts his hand on Alister "what is it you seem troubled".

Alister at the ships Ragnar following his gaze towards his fleet "Ariana Has left on a tour of royal duty around Essos she's also pregnant".

Ragnar looked at him "pregnant does the king know" Alister looked at him "for now it's best he doesn't" Alister chuckles.

"I was hoping I could sail back with you my friend" Ragnar chuckles "of course Alister I will be delighted to have you on board" By the afternoon the iron fleet had started sailing back to the seven kingdoms .

Dyanas labour came a day earlier than expected, She was screaming in agony, Alicent And Rhaenrya were both present helping the wet nurses with the procedure of the birth "push!" Dyana screamed in agony Rhaegar rushed in and the wet nurses tried to stop him but Dyana asked for him to come towards her and they stop with a nod from the head Wet nurse "I'm here I'm here" Rhaegar kissed her hand as she screamed in agony for the next 3 hours.

Suddenly they hear a baby scream and cry the wet nurse who held him cut the cord and wrap him up with a soft quilted blanket, the head nurse look at Rhaenyra in horror and whispered to her "she's lost a lot of blood and it's not looking good" Rhaegar saw this and immediately asked for answers as Dyana held her newborn child.

Rhaenrya pulled Rhaegar aside Alicent following behind "she's lost too much blood and it's grave" Alicent remend solemnly silent as Rhaegar looked at them both confused "What do you mean?" Alicent held his hand "it means she will not make it, the blood she lost will make it go infected" Rhaegar now realised the serious nature of this news he couldn't believe it "she... she can't" Rhaenrya and Alicent held his hand "will give you time with her" Rhaenrya, Alicent and the Wet nurses all left the room leaving Rhaegar, Dyana and there new born child alone.

Rhaegar sat on the bed next and held his new born child on his arms the child had Dyanas eyes, Rhaegar looked at Dyana her normal complexion going more and more Pale, his heart sank catching his throat "Rhaegar what's the... matter" Rhaegar sighs breathing out "your dieing Dyana there's nothing we can do" she looks away tears in her eyes as she looks and holds his hand and Squeezed it she slowly spoke "promise me you will look after are son, protect him, teach him, make sure he's a good man like you" Rhaegar now with tears in his eyes spoke "I will" she smiled "we shall call are boy after Bealon like your true father" Rhaegar smiled "Bealon it is" Dyana groaned "I'm so cold" Rheagar snuggled in the bed her arms over his chest as there child sleep in his arms, after a minute or two her last breath left her body Dyana was gone, Rhaegar broke down into tears as he soothed the child to keep him asleep.

He got up from the bed with his child in arm and walked out the room dry tear stains around his Visenya looked at Rhaegar "I'm so sorry Rhaegar" he gave her the little boy as he heard a commotion from the great hall.

When Rhaegar walk into the great hall and head the accusations being made by Aemond and Beala and being held back by Alicent and Rhaenys Viserys made Aemond's punishment extreme, being banished to the kingdom of Wessex to join Bealon Targaryen his uncle.

Rhaegar knew this was an unjust punishment, He was just a child "if you banish him you also banish me and my newborn son" Viserys grew frustrated as Alicent, Aegon and Rhaenrya looked on with protest.

"A Bastard son, like the man your father gave us standing in front of me Reminding me everyday that my dear wife will never truly love me, you should have been sent to the streets you bastard!".

Rhaegar huffed "My Wife is dead" the whole great hall went silent.

"I finally get it why you're so goddamn angry at me all for being the son of Bealon Targaryen and it's not because I make mistakes and it's not because I'm a little stubborn sometimes, and we have disagreements every now and then It's because I was born! It's simply because I exist because no matter what I did, no matter how hard I tried, you would give this look as if I was running everything every moment as if you life was being destroyed by me just being there and you took everything second of your life to make mine a living hell because you see my Father, so why don't you say just say it, just say it.."

Viserys nodded "your right" he went close to Rhaegar face "And your banished with Aemond" And that was that by morning Aemond, Rhaegar and His newborn son Bealon set sail to their banishment in Wessex.
