Chapter 11: banishment

One week after the battle of Dragonstone Viserys had yet to make his judgement of the punishment he Will hand out, Daemon was nowhere to be seen; some say he fled to pentos no one knows for certain.

Rhaenyra had been arguing with her father for days at this point trying to convince him to spare the children and alicent and a less violent end for Bealon her uncle Viserys ended up sending her away to think Rhaenyra could only hope he would listen then disregard her input.

Alicent on the other hand was put under house arrest in her room only being allowed 1 maid and 2 visitors Mainly her sister Catherine and princess Rhaenyra, Thankfully Viserys allowed Catherine his sister in law to look after the twins till the judgement was made.

While her other child prince Aegon was completely under the kings rule he would not let his son be taken away from king's landing like before the battle of Dragonstone.

As for Bealon he was in the red keeps dungeon cell his arms chained to the wall of the dungeon cell being feed only stale bread and mucky water that he hardly touched or drank kicking Rats away from him whenever they wanted a nibble of him.

Rhaenyra and Catherine both visited Alicent on the Monday morning "how are my baby's Catherine" Catherine looked up at her sister on a chair holding her belly.

"They are healthy and strong dear sister Visenya is quite a happy girl and laughs a lot from the toys I give her and Rhaegar loves a story of tales and is more quiet then his twin sister Visenya, do one thing is noticeable about the twins".

Alicent sat down wanting to know what she meant "And that is?" Rhaenyra spoke up as she looked at Alicent beside her standing next to her chair "Visenya has Targaryen Silver white hair while Rhaegar has your hair colour Alicent".

Alicent nodded solemnly in fear of the consequences "I'm guessing my husband the king knows of this by now" Rhaenyra and Catherine remained silent only confirming her suspicions.

"Do not worry I spoke to father about it, I just need to hear his judgement once he has made it Alicent" Rhaenyra says holding her shoulder Alicent gribs it with her right hand for comfort "I hope your right Rhaenyra".

Bealon was in his cell he had not sleep thinking of Alicent and his children that night his beard had grown a bit scruffy his eyes black with tiredness, then the cell doors open as Viserys walked in and sat on a stool the guard placed for him "Uncuff him".

The guard then uncuffs Bealon as he holds his sore wrists as they leave a red chain mark on his hand and wrists "what am I to do with you brother I trusted you, I let you come back to king's landing and then you take my wife to dragonstone".

Bealon looked at him but had nothing to say to say "do you have nothing to say brother.... BROTHER!" Viserys shouted and Bealon looked up at him.

"I did what my heart told me to do brother I wanted to protect Alicent I love her I can't help that just as father and mother loved each other just as mother loved us before she died in childbirth, just like you had with Aemma" Bealon says as Viserys looks away.

"I never felt that love before till I saw alicent" Bealon says trying to get his attention as Viserys tries to hold back his tears of his memory of Aemma and the regret he has for his decision that lead to her death.

"Am I truly sorry About hurting your trust but has it ever crossed your mind brother that I wanted love just like you had with Aemma that's all I ever wanted I thought you would be more understanding since you lost her".

Viserys sighs what Bealon spoke was the truth that he cannot deny he hands him a ale as Bealon hurried the drink down as well as eating the fresh bread "Brother, I must make an Example you know the laws and to anger my hand Otto Hightower won't go in my favour if he had his way you would be hang".

Bealon wiping the ale from his face looked at Viserys "and what do you want Brother" Viserys sat next to him "I won't have you killed brother your my blood and I still love you even if it is broken by this betrayal".

Bealon stayed quiet "So I have decided you will go in Exile to the kingdom of Wessex and there you will stay for the remainder of your life".

Bealon nodded "and what of my children Visenya and Rhaegar" Viserys sat back on the stool "Visenya will be raised as my daughter but Rhaegar will take his mothers name Hightower and have Rhaenyra as her ward so he will not be known as a bastard".

Bealon nodded "thank you brother I accept this punishment" Viserys nodded "I will make the servants gather you some things and clothes to wear you will depart tomorrow at midday" Viserys walks out and leaves Bealon to his thoughts.

Later that night Alicent was wearing her nightgown and preparing for bed letting her hair loose her handmaiden walked up to her "my lady the king wishes for your presence at his chambers".

Alicent nodded and followed the guards the kings guard let her in as she walks in she sees her husband Viserys at his table doing the high Valeria city build.

"sit alicent" Alicent walked and sat down as he looked at her he sighs, Alicent looked down for a moment and look up.

"you wanted to see me" Viserys nodded "I have come to my decision" Alicent nodded "and what is the punishment if I may ask?".

Alicent asked as Viserys looked away from her for a moment and then turned to look at her again.

"Alicent I have decided to banish Bealon as for your children Visenya will be our daughter but your son will take your surname and under Rhaenyra he will be under her tutor liege as her ward".

Alicent knew she had no choice but to accept she had hoped to raise both her children but it was better that Rhaegar had the Hightower name instead of a bastard surname.

the thing that broke her Heart was that Bealon was banished separate from her one true love.

"I understand".

She stood up and left Viserys to his city building.

Bealon had gathered his stuff that was given to him and left the cells when he made it to the front gates of the red keep he was given a Black horse.

He stroked the horse's neck and started to prepare his horse to head to the dock outside the kings landing near the storm-lands.

The rain was pouring as he put on his hood, He gave the castle one more look before turning to his horse, and suddenly Alicents voice appeared behind him.

"wait!" He looked at alicent in shock while wearing his hood, He walked up to her "alicent you can't be here if they see me with you".

Alicent spoke up "I was given permission to say goodbye we don't have long do" Bealon nodded "how are our children" alicent held his hands.

"There healthy my love, but the thought of you being in Exile hurts me" Bealon gave alicent a sorrowful look.

"Being without you and the twins is breaking me every minute I remain here, It's probably best you move on" Alicent's heart sinks as tears roll down her face.

"My heart is breaking, i love you, I can't lose you" Bealon kisses her lips and then places his forehead on her and then steps back looking at her.

"You will never lose me I will always love you alicent I will return one day for now watch are children write to me I will be in Wessex I will always be in your heart and you in mine"

He then kisses her forehead and got on his horse he kissed her hand one last time before riding away Alicent just stood there watching as her heart broke in two tears coming down like a rainstorm.
