CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR:

COUNCIL MEETINGS

For the first time in a while Aurora felt an excited feeling in the pit of her stomach as she waited in the Dining Hall for the long awaited arrival of James, Remus, Ron, and Harry. The Dining hall was empty and behind her stood her mother, her father, Damien, Luke, and Hermione. Anxiously she tapped her foot on the floor and it echoed throughout the walls. Her eyes cast a quick glance towards Magnolia who was sitting on the alter massaging her temples with Sirius gently rubbing circles on her mother's back.

"Go talk to them." Luke nudged her.

Careful," replied Aurora in a dry tone. "Everyone around here is acting like I may fall to pieces any second . . . that nudge might have taken me out."

Luke frowned, "Well you're making me upset by not talking to them," he sighed, "Honestly how rude since I am . .. you know, cursed, because of you? And all?"

    "Oh I forgot about that."

     "Oh really?"

"Yeah, can't sleep, wake up in cold sweats with nightmares over the fact my eyes might pop and my bones could crack."

Aurora turned to him, "Wear sunglasses maybe?"

"Smart idea, I'll try that." Luke hums, balancing on his toes. "I missed Remus, I'm glad he's on the way back."

"He misses his non-biological but also freakishly alike dad." Aurora gushed. "They both are werewolves, like chocolate, and they both read books like they are going out of fashion. Ladies and gentlemen, it's his dad."

"Well at least I have only got one non-dad, you've got hundreds of people lining up to be your "fake Sirius" dad. Please Aurora, let me be your dad?"

"Very funny, I'm walking away now." Aurora replied with a fake laugh. She slowly walked over towards Sirius and Magnolia and clasped her hands together. "Got a headache?"

Magnolia nodded slowly, and when she looked up she had dark circles clinging to her under eyes, "I'm prone to headaches."

"Ah." Aurora says clasping her lips together. "I'm prone to passing out. I haven't got enough fingers to count how many times I've got light head and dizzy and then woken up with everyone staring at me."

Instead of her parents understanding the joke she attempted to make, they both looked at her horrified.

"It was a joke." She rolled her eyes. "I am starting to make them again."
