"Really, Tony?" You rolled your eyes at the sticky note your colleague left for you on your door.
Meet me downstairs in 10 ;)
-TYou couldn't help but feel a mix of annoyance and intrigue as you stared at the note. Tony Stark was not just a colleague; he was a friend you slept with from time to time. No one else knew about your arrangement. It was supposed to be a secret, something that existed in the shadows of the Stark Tower, away from the prying eyes of the rest of the team.
But lately, Tony had been pushing your buttons, making it almost too obvious. He left notes everywhere, caught you off guard under tables, in the kitchen, or even behind desks, igniting heated moments in the most unexpected places. The list went on, and you were beginning to worry that the others might catch on.
You shook your head as you contemplated the mess of a breakup he had with Pepper. No one expected him to move on so soon, but here you were, caught in the whirlwind of his charming antics. Would you even call it moving on? It felt more like a fleeting escape from reality.
As you turned around, still clutching the note, you nearly bumped into Steve Rogers. He raised an eyebrow, concern etched across his face.
"Hey, Y/N. Everything alright?" Steve asked, peering at you curiously.
"Yeah, just... work stuff," you replied, forcing a smile. You didn't want to involve him in the chaotic web of your secret life with Tony.
"Uh-huh." He seemed unconvinced, but thankfully, he didn't press further. You ducked past him and made your way down the hallway toward the stairs.
As you descended, you could hear the faint sound of music and laughter emanating from the common area. You pushed the door open and found Tony leaning against the kitchen island, an impish grin plastered on his face. He was wearing that ridiculously tight T-shirt that always made your heart race.
"You made it!" he exclaimed, feigning surprise. "I was worried you'd chicken out."
"Why would I?" you shot back, crossing your arms. "You just love pushing my buttons, don't you?"
Tony chuckled, his eyes glinting with mischief. "What can I say? It's one of my many talents." He stepped closer, his body radiating warmth. "Plus, I couldn't resist the chance to see you."
"Just remember what we talked about," you warned, your tone softening despite your best efforts to stay serious. "This is just... casual, right?"
"Casual," he echoed, leaning closer until the air between you crackled with tension. "Sure, but can we make it a little more... fun?"
Before you could respond, he closed the distance, capturing your lips with his. The kiss was electric, igniting a fire deep within you that you couldn't ignore. Tony pulled back slightly, his breath warm against your face.
"See? Fun," he teased, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips.
"Yeah, well, we're in the kitchen, and anyone could walk in," you reminded him, though your resolve was faltering. It was hard to keep your cool when he looked at you like that, his eyes sparkling with playful mischief.
"Let them," he said, shrugging as if it were the simplest thing in the world. "I'm not ashamed of what we have."
"Maybe you should be," you retorted, trying to keep the mood light, but your heart raced at the thought of someone finding out. You stepped back, putting some space between you, but Tony followed.
"You think I care about what others think?" he challenged, raising an eyebrow. "I mean, come on, we're two consenting adults. What we have is ours, and I'm not about to hide it."
"Tony..." You sighed, torn between wanting to dive back into the moment and knowing the complications that could arise from it.
"Okay, let's do this," he said, suddenly serious, his demeanor shifting as he stepped back. "Let's put everything on the table."
You looked at him, the weight of his words hanging in the air. The truth was, you enjoyed this secret life, but the risk of getting caught made you uneasy. "What do you mean?"
"I'm tired of sneaking around. I want to see where this goes. What do you think?" His eyes searched yours, and you could see the vulnerability beneath his confident facade.
Your heart raced. Could you really do this? You took a deep breath, feeling the gravity of the moment. "I... I don't know, Tony. It's complicated."
"Life is complicated," he replied, stepping closer again. "But I'm willing to figure it out if you are."
As you stood there, a million thoughts raced through your mind, but one thing was clear: no matter how risky it might be, the connection you shared with Tony was unlike anything you had ever experienced. You felt alive with him, and maybe, just maybe, it was worth the risk.
"Alright, let's do it," you said finally, a smile creeping onto your face. "But we're doing this my way."
"Your way, huh?" he grinned, his playful demeanor returning. "I can work with that."
