The funeral ended but some people still stuck around, including the three girls, tsuskishima's mom was still there, and as soon as the people started parting ways, she noticed the familiar face that she always loved seeing.
"Y/n? is that really you?" she said quietly approaching the h/c haired girl, y/n turned around "oh my god Ayako? im so sorry for your loss, Akiteru was the best."
"Yeah, he was. Anyhow, im holding a small dinner in our house, i would appreciate it if you join, and I know that maybe this might be weird for you because of what happened a couple of years ago with kei, but i do miss seeing you around our house" Ayako, tsukishima's mom said as she pulled her aside.
Y/n thought about it for a minute before answering, "Well can i bring yachi and kiyoko? even if not i can still come"
"Of course, id be more than happy" Ayako walked away, and y/n returned back with the others.
"Dude im so serious right now I don't think your tie is supposed to be so tight around your neck" yachi told tsukishima who just looked at her weird "I never wear these type of clothing what did you expect"
"Yachi and kiyoko, Ayako invited us to come to a dinner thing at her house, can you guys come?" y/n asked the two who nodded in response, "Great, as soon as I thought I wouldve probably gotten rid of you right after this funeral but turns out im wrong" tsukishima said with a sarcastic tone as the h/c haired girl just rolled her eyes at his remark.
She had no power to say anything back, plus she felt bad to say anything rude since his brother did pass away.
As y/n drove around the neighborhood, she had a wave of nostalgia sweep over her body while she did, remembering unwanted memories that she kind of forgot ever existed. She couldn't help but think about the days her and her friends would take late night walks all around just talking about anything and everything.
It was bittersweet knowing that they all grew apart and have lives of their own now, as it is quite sad that they went from seeing each other every day to not even knowing what's going on with each of them.
Before y/n could think of anything else she realized that she arrived at tsukishima's house, well more like ayako's house since she recently just found out that kei has moved out.
Yachi and Kiyoko were already inside, when she opened the front door she could hear people talking inside, she was greeted by kei's mom.
Y/n looked around the house, 'nothing changed' she thought, like no time ever passed, it was like high school all over again and she didn't know if she liked the feeling or not, memories were flowing through her brain like it never did before.
She saw kei sitting down on the sofa scrolling through his phone with a blank face, not talking with anybody, yachi, kiyoko and yamaguchi were in the corner talking.
Y/n didn't know why but she sat down beside the tall blonde, "Why are you on twitter"
"There's nothing wrong with twitter—why are you even talking to me" he replies with a straight face not looking at her, y/n didn't reply but just looked at the tv that was showing the news, kei looked at her when she didn't reply.
"Did New York turn you into an even more boring person?" he said still scrolling on twitter the girl perked up in offense , "first of all, im not boring this whole situation is just awkward, and literally your definition of a conversation is just saying insults, I don't have the energy plus I'm not gonna argue with someone who just lost a family member"
Kei looked at the girl who had an annoyed face not looking at him but he could still get a sight of her although he didn't say anything but just smirk at her response, y/n could sense that he was making fun of her, "You're still as immature as ever" she added stood up fast, and went to the three who was still in the same spot y/n saw them when she entered the house.
