Y/n was tense the whole morning, although she wouldn't admit it kiyoko and yachi could sense her atmosphere whenever she'd walk in the room, she had a blank face on and it just was creepy to say the least.

Lunch time came around and they started getting ready for the funeral, "I can heat up the leftovers takeout from last night do you guys want it?" kiyoko asked the two who was in the bathroom doing their makeup, they all agreed to eat a bit before going to the funeral.

They started eating after a while, yachi looked at kiyoko and y/n, "I don't know about you guys but this is so awkward for no damn reason" she perked up, y/n agreed "yeah no I don't know why we're so weird today"

"Dude it's cause you're weird, you've been weird since the morning" kiyoko corrected her, y/n had a confused look on her face hinting that she was indeed confused of what kiyoko said "no, im not being weird at all what do you mean"

"Y/n are you sure that seeing tsukishima today won't bother you at all? like 0 percent of any drama?" kiyoko asked trying to get an honest answer, "I swear on my life im okay, and even if I wasn't it's not about tsukishima, im sad about akiteru, it's been four years how bad could it be" she replied showing that she's unbothered so the two girls just let it go, for now.

They drove to the place the funeral was being held, and as they got closer they started seeing familiar faces in the crowd, the three girls got out of their cars and walked up to the crowd of people that gathered around.

Yamaguchi caught sight of y/n and immediately walked up to her, "oh my god y/n! im glad you came"

"Hey yams it's no worries at all, I told yachi and kiyoko about the whole situation and they decided to come with, is that alright?" y/n gave him a side hug, "yeah of course, they knew him." he pulled away from the hug and gave her a light smile.

Y/n, kiyoko, yachi and yamaguchi sat beside each other, talking about random things they remember when they were in high school all together, "Is the whole volleyball team here?" kiyoko asked, "uh no, they weren't able to come, most of them are out of the country and if not they're far away" yamaguchi sighed.

"Well what about kei? how is he holding up?" yachi asked with concern in her voice, "well we had to force him out of bed to come today, and he hasn't even arrived yet, so I think that kind of sums up how he's doing right now" y/n tried to ignore the conversation, while kiyoko and yachi just stared at yamaguchi with pure pity in their eyes hinting they felt bad for kei since he did look up to his brother a lot.

More people arrived and it started getting crowded, y/n excused herself to the others to go to the bathroom, and as she walked towards the public restroom she saw a familiar tall figure sitting down behind the small building, "tsukishima?"

the man looked up at her "sorry who?" after seeing his face a shocked look was imprinted on her face "oh im sorry, I thought you were somebody else" the girl bowed as a sign of apologizing and went inside the bathroom.

The funeral soon started and no sign of tsukishima, y/n didn't know if she should be relieved or not, "hey yams, is kei not coming today?" she whispered, "his mom said he's not in the house anymore so maybe he's on the way or he's late" he whispered, y/n nodded and they both went and looked back at the priest.

The whole ceremony was emotional for everyone around them, when it was time for the last part, someone sat at the empty chair beside y/n, she looked over at the person and to her surprise it was kei. She analyzed his face, it changed, no it didn't change, more like matured. But he looks like he hasn't slept in days, which was reasonable, his hair was a mess, his tie didn't look the way it should probably look, but before she could think of anything else he spoke.

In a stern deep voice he said, "Are you done staring? or do I have to poke your eyes just for you to do so" the girl found herself putting on a weirded out disgusted look on her face, "how can you expect me not to stare at you when you look like a homeless person" she spiked back.

"Oh my bad I couldn't fix how I look, it's cause my brother just died" he whispered-yelled, "Well you couldn't even do the effort to show up early, i wouldn't have guessed you were his brother" she whispered back, "Well you-" before the blonde could continue his next remark someone a row behind shushed the two.

After that they just sat in silence but the tension between them spoke louder on its own.
